Cytotec and Hysteroscopy!

Cytotec and Hysteroscopy!

I know this is a little early to ask but my gyno (fertility specialists) wants me to use cytotec the day before I have my hysterocopy. I'm having that done plus a lap for endo on the 25th of this month. The reason for the hysteroscopy is because they did the HSG and found out that I have cervical stenosis and my cervix was really really narrow. So this cytotec is suppose to help soften my cervix and i'm suppose to insert it the night before I go for surgery.  It's a little embarassing but I'm curious as to how far I'm suppose to insert this?  I've heard of people taking them by mouth but his directions were 1 tablet vaginally night before procedure. I thought it was going to look like a suppository but it's not..it's a tablet.  Anyone had to do this or know how far?  Thanks for the help. It's grately appreciated. :)

Hi,

you need to insert it all the way in, as far as you can. Ideally it will be sitting up against your cervix and will dissolve there, softening it.

Best wishes for the surgery.
