DHea & Fertilaid

Hi, I am 41 and have tried IVF 3 times in Japan. The first clinic put me on clomid for 7 days and FSH shots of 300 ml a day. I ended up with one egg which was transfered at 8 cell stage. I changed clinics and my second IVF trial resulted in 3 eggs, all of which fertilized and went to blastocyst stage. Two were transfered. This clinic put me on clomid and FSH shots of 600 ml a day. My doctor suggested I try again since I responded to the meds and all my eggs fertilized. I tried for the 3rd time. He thought I had 2 eggs but one turned out to be a cyst and the other was empty. They will not increase the FSH further in this country. I am comtemplating going abroad to try for the last time. I would like to know if other countries have varied protocols to enhance egg production at my age (41). I am very apprehensive to try again with same meds. I feel my egg number increased from 1 to 3 due to the increase of FSH shot from 300 ml to 600 ml. I would like to give myself the best chance, can you help me decide what to do? Also do Fertilaid or DHEA supplements help?

HI!
I agree with Imcrt-you should def. try another doc in a different country for another protocol.  If you have the means to do it-it's so worth it! I switched RE's because he wanted to do the same protocol and I didn't produce very many eggs (5).  Good luck to you!

Here is a link from a IVF website. All the DHEA info is from the Dr. It is really encouraging. Also, it has been recently medically proven that accupuncture increases your chances with IVF. I have been hearing really exciting things about the successes.

This one has some good info, too. I am having trouble with the previous site tonight.

I would defenitly try a fertility center in the states. One that is more aggressive. I would switch to injectables instead of clomid so that you can make lots of eggs. They should be retrieving many eggs like 10-20 so I am suprised when you say they only took 1-3eggs from you, that doesn't seem like enough. Good luck

I was going to try FertilAid with my next IVF cycle. The first one was not successful.
Be careful with that supplement.  Under the FAQ section, it states not to take that if you will be taking fertility drugs. Not sure about DHEA.
Hope that helps.
