Did you hear the story about the obese woman who didn't know she was pregnant?

True story.  You hear about these women all the time.  How the heck do you not know you're pregnant?  Waking up to pee 6 times in the night would be my first clue, not to mention the sore BBs.

But here some woman who wasn't even trying, goes to the ER and then gets a full term baby.  She was 39 YO and 420 pounds. She was too fat to feel the baby's movements. To many of layers of fat.  The docs could barely detect fetal movement. They saw a full term baby on an x-ray.


With the exception of weighing 420 pounds...wouldn't that be cool to go to the ER and be told...oh you're going to have a baby.  That's why you have abdominal pain.

I'm so angry about this...I don't know why, but it really upsets me.  She gets a baby and didn't even try or know for that matter.  How does this universe work?????

I feel you.  My co-worker was telling me about one of her friends who was a bit obese and was drinking it up and found out she was pregnant at like 7 months or something (she didn't want children at the time) so still comtinued to drink and party and the baby came out perfectly okay???

You just have to wonder????

my bestfriend is 5"4 and weighs only 130 lbs. so shes not overweight at all. one day she was in soo much pain from constipation that she went to the ER and the doctor decided to do an ultrasound on her because she hasnt had her period. which for my friend was a normal thing to miss her period so much. and they told her that she was 6 months pregnant. she had done many hpt's upto 6 months and they all said negative.

Really?  That's amazing?   How long ago was this?  What happend.  You say she was doing HPT and no BFP????? Why no HCG?    That's so strange.  Wasn't she showing at all?  What did she do???

That would have been cool...just having to wait 3 months.  

Once again....I don't understand the way this universe works.

well, she did alot of hpt's and all showed negative all the way upto 6 months. no reason why. she was healthy. and from the time she was 4 months til the day she found out, i didnt see her. before 4 months, she didnt show. when i saw her at 6 months, she showed. i saw the little belly. well a bit bigger than little. she says that she thought she might be pregnant but she trusted the two hundred (exaggerating) hpt's shes done. she did like one every week or  maybe more. adn she said maybe shes getting fat . that made me laugh. unfortunately, because all the test showed negative, she kept on smoking and drinking occasionally. but luckily she had a healthy little boy who is now 15 months. but because it was her first pregnancy, she didnt really know that she could get a blood test done. so i guess it happens. scary.

oh and i forgot to add. she was married for 8 years to her husband at that time and they were thrilled to be pregnant yet worried cause she had drank and smoked alot.

That's great everything worked out for her.  Yeah, I would be worried about the smoking and drinking too.  It's crazy I saw an older movie with Helen Hunt and Richard Dreyfuss call Once Around.  She was pregnant in the movie and he smoked around her.  I was shocked! And I guess not too long ago women still drank martinis when they were pregnant.

i smoke like 4 cigarettes a day and drink like once a month. i know alot of people say that one cigarette a day does not harm your pregnnacy, but thats still a risk to me and i would NEVER risk it no matter how hard i think it is for me to quit. i have surgery tomorrow morning at 7:00am to remove my ovarian cyst or my right ovary. my doctor told me not to smoke for 2-3 days before. and i smoked yesterday. but as long as i dont do it today, i am ok. but yeah when i decided to get pregnant the first time, i stoped smoking right away. i am 26 years old and i have a two year old. i got married 3years ago. but i was with my hsuband 4 years before that. and while we were plannin our wedding for 1 year before the day, we were having unportected sex cause i couldnt wait to get pregnant. but i didnt get pregnant. when i got married, six months later, i said enough! i went to a fertility doctor. they did all kinds of tests on us and she gave me some kind of a pill. and then we had sex on the ovulation day and i got pregnant! but before that , my period was irregular and i didnt get pregnnat. now after my surgery, i will start trying to conceive again a couple of months from now. we'll see how that goes. sorry if i wrote too much. hahhaha

a lady at my church had the same experience, she was older, late thrities i think, had adopted 2 children because the doc told her they couldnt have children, she was really large too, probably 400 pounds, and same thing, went to the hospital thought she ruptured her appendix or something, and was in labor , the baby was breech, but otherwise healthy, and i know this ones true because ive seen the baby, and it was in the church bulliton, hehe thought id share my story too,

oh and my step grandma(shes been my grandma my whole life) but she and my grandfather were married for years, she never had a period, and my grandpa already had five kids, so they never thought about having any of their own, well when i was 6(gma was 43) she went to the hospital and was 6 months, its so weird having an aunt younger then me!

Also...if they are alraedy poking around inside you, why cant the just run the dye through your tubes then? Then can get a visual on the spillage if they're just checking to see if you're tubes are open. Ask them!

Did I post a lot to your post about your ovarian cyst?  I'm sorry so many peeps.  Good luck tomorrow.   Make sure while they're in there they take care of everything they need to take care of.   Are they just going to drain the cyst?


And if they end up taking ovary, the other one will take over.  You'll be fine.  You're in good shape because you're so young.   If they remove your surgery, they might keep you overnight and you'll be sore for a while so take it easy, if they just do laparoscopy and drain it you'll feel better by the end of the week.

Why does it seem that the women who don't want to get pregnant end up getting pregnant anyway?  I work with a woman who told me that when she found out she was pregnant she cried for 3 days straight.  A few weeks later she told everyone she had a mc, but I'm pretty certain she ended up getting an abortion.  The saddest part in all this is that this would be her second one in the last year.  It's depressing.

Shar- I am definitely in agreement with you.  Seems like people take the opportunity to have a child for granted.  Drives me nuts!  Especially when couples who are prepared and wanting to have children find themselves out of luck.

ye its really scary I be her next knowing me I had Implantation bleeding in may  and received a period 2 weeks after which was strange I'm having periods now but the thing is they have gone into a pattern like April 22nd I got period then got Implantation bleeding on the 2nd may 2007 which was weird then got a period on the 16th May

every month it take 3 away from the number like the number is how many days from the first day of last period first after Implantation bleeding it started of 35 then next month 32 then next month 29 take 3 each time its doing every month
Has any1 had a period while pregnant and can teenage girls go through it also . Did you get Implantation bleeding at the beginning and never thought of nothing about it .
My Implantation bleeding only was pink stringy thing in my discharge and it gave me belly ache it happned only once in a day.
