Do the timings seem right?

G_S
I was on Femara CD 3-7, had US on CD12 ie today, which showed 28.8mm follicle.
I was given the trigger shot at 9:00am today, will have IUI 11:30am tomorrow (ie 26.5 hrs after the shot) and 9:00am day after (ie 48 hrs after the shot).
Do the timings seem right? Am I not suposed to ovulate 36 after the shot...so dont both the IUI's seem off.
My RE says he does it like this.

Thanks...you are very sweet...guys what...I am getting slight cramps on my left side now (that is the side with the 28.8 folli)....so I guess I will be ovulating soon ...like 36 hrs from trigger shot....I know you asked me not to BD tonight as I had IUI this morning and have another one scheduled tomorrow, but I am so very tempted...dh gave 49.5 million this morning  and I was like :O ... am sure he will have good numbers if we dont BD tonight....I know I am acting so impatient, but I really dont want to miss the bus ...hehe

So I'm back from my IUI ...it was a challenge to get hold of the cervix, cervix was shying off as if it did not want anything to go in....my nurse made 4 attempts and gave up, called the doc...and she set the speculum in. Funny that it was so difficult this time...this is my 4th IUI cycle (6th IUI overall)...but never had such a difficulty...another thing that was strange was, that I was not even feeling wet....like did not have enough CM also. In my last 2 cycles, after the shot the next 2 days I have a lot of CM, but not today. My temp was up this morning by .4 degress. Dont know what's going. But am holding on to my hopes, that it will work out well in the morning.
Rested in the clinic for half hr and now am back home and back to the chores..pray for me girls

Hi! I agree that the timing seems fine....and yes, as Helen says, WOW what enormous an enormous follie!!!!! And good job you're having 2 done (my RE doesn't do 2 consecutive, I don't know why) - so that way you'll cover the smaller follies too if the the big one doesn't get fertilized. DON'T BD TONIGHT!!!!! Ideally, you're supposed to have 2 days of abstinence before an IUI to increase as much as possible the quality and quantity of those little sperms. bestest of luck for tomorrow!

bny807 - I will not have a an US before my 48 hr IUI.

Heather5 - I think I ovulate at about 36-38 hr coz thats when I had my cramping in the last 2 cycles

Helen72- I know even I get impressed and happy seeing my stats everytime, but results never come :( Hoping this time it will be it. My hubby seems to be losing patience

vergovana - Wow! That's good theory. Think positive to get a positive. Yeah u r right...I am already seem to be getting ready for a negative even though I have not even ovulated yet...I should be thinking positive

All - Thanks you for your responses. So if I ovulate at 36 -38 hrs wouldn't the sperms have died from the first IUI. Do you think I should BD tonight? (wonder if it will be too much for dh) Will it be bad for the washed sperms if I BD tonight?

hi,for my iui idid it once&was after trigger shot with 36 hours, but i think that for u as u'll do double iui, this timing is best, why?as the ovum stays for 48 hours waiting to fetilize so 1st u surely meet her with this 2 times
2nd if it comes out earlier or later than expected time of trigger u'll also b meeting her
3rd the validity of the sperms is 24 hours so by this u r having complete 48 hours fertile sperms, whenever she comes out find sperms waiting her.
i want something from u,i want u in these 2 days think that u gonna make it,believe in this as i believe that when u r convienced with something, challenging to do&insisting to reach your target, all your body parts&molecules will respond exactly like u,so we need this ovum comes out believing she is going to meet a sperm&fertilize, trust me,good luck for u tomorrow&keep me updated.

My Re too does the IUI two consecutive days. The first day is for the egg to have some sperm if releases before the second day. Some women ovulate earler than 36 hr.So your timing is great. My re does the same method as yours so i think you'll be fine. Good luck

Looks like your 2 IUIs will cover all eventualities.
28.8 follie is so huge!!  I am really impressed with your stats every time.

I hope this cycle works!!!

I think 36 hours after trigger is the most common time to ovulate, but it can happen anytime between 24 hours and 48 hours, so it sounds like your IUIs will be timed right.

I've never used a trigger, but I did do four unmedicated IUI cycles about a year ago, and all four times, I would come in the morning I got my positive OPK and have an IUI, and then come back the next morning for another IUI. And all four times, I had already ovulated by the time I went in for my second IUI. So for me at least, it seems like I ovulate earlier than the standard 36 hours. More like 24 hours or less after detecting the surge.

Best of luck tomorrow (and the following day)!!! I can't believe you'll be back in the 2WW again already! I'm just CD6, so probably won't ovulate until next week.

Hello!    I did the same (well only one) but it was 26 hours afterwards.. it seems that most RE's shoot for the 36 hour mark.. my follie was 22mm and I had a natural LH surge (they measured it in the office) so they were actually worried that I was going to O early, maybe since your Follie is so big they want to make sure to catch it early at the 26 hour mark??   Are they going to ultrasound you before your 48hour one to see if the egg already released?? From what i've read the washed sperm can last 12 hours or more so hoepfully you'll be covered and get that BFP! good luck! : )
