Do they have to monitor all patients taking clomid?

Do they have to monitor all patients taking clomid?

I will be starting it in Dec but I can't afford the u/s to check all the time.

I want to know as much as posible before I see the doctor again in Dec. My insurance through work does not start till Feb 1st so i will be paying everything out of pocket. But also my insurance through work only covers stuff related to pcos not fertility.

I agree.. when i got clomid from my obgyn he didn't mointor at all except phone calls to check on how i was feeling. My RE monitored every month with u/s but we also used a trigger so it was needed to check follies. Good luck and Hope it works for youQ

My obgyne did not do any kind of monitoring while I was on Clomid for 3 months. They just advised I use OPKs. You can always refuse the ultrasounds if they want to do them also.

It will be an OBGYN giving it to me. So I just wondered.

I'm still not sure about taking the clomid. I'm scared to take it.

If you're seeing an RE, they usually like to monitor your cycles...at least twice. First on day 3 of your cycle to make sure you have a number of antral (resting) follicles and that there are no cysts, and second around day 12 to make sure you have maturing follicles. I know OBGYNs sometimes give you clomid without monitoring, though.

Good luck with everything!
