Does IVF

Does the stimulation and removal of multiple eggs during IVF treatments onset menopause and depending on whether the answer is yes or no, why? I'm wondering if I need to worry about menopause coming on earlier if I do several IVF's.

I am not aware of IVF causing menopause.  The amount of eggs removed in IVF is small compared to amount of eggs you have in reserve assuming your ovarian reserve is normal.

I agree with spec.  The ramping up and abrupt stop of all the meds as well as some of the meds themselves  (Lupron) can throw your body into a temporary menopause like state.  I have not seen anything to suggest that your body is actually going into menopause or that you will have premature menopause.

I believe that this is why my doc put me on vivelle patches (estrogen) post transfer.  I remember in my drug class the nurse saying  that our bodies think we are going thru menopause from all the meds and the sudden stop of the meds.

I forgot to mention that it is temporary menopause like SD said, not that you are going to have sustained menopause symptoms.
