You mentioned it is a hard step??? DO you mean emotionally?
Hubby and I just decided tonight that this might be our best bet, mainly because our issue is his low sperm motility
I am not sure how the whole process works.
I am in Canada where are you at??
Yes meaning emotionally. I am in PA and 35 years old. The process is pretty easy, We got the the info from our Fertility Clinic, then you actually go on line to the cryobank you choose /pick a donor. We went with the hair and eyes, and decided not to see pic's of the donor just becuz we figured our whole lives we would be picking out what was the donor's physical appearances -- Then we Called and find out the routine of the cryobank - order your sperm it was shipped to our clinic and that's it. When you "o" you go in and have your iui. Just as you did with dh. It just feels weird knowing that someone elses sperm is inside you at least that is how I felt. I have been with dh for 18 years. So yes it is a bit emotional. I do not have any high hopes becuz I found out yesterday that I may have endometerosis at least that is what I have been researching. I cannot believe that this year has been just horrible from finding out dh husband sperm count was low to him ending up with diabetes type 1 to his grandfather dying to now this....
I would suggest this... it may cost a bit more, but I think it will help - emotionally... If you use donor sperm, use your husband's also - mix them together... The baby would be the luck of the draw... and you would still have that flicker of hope that the baby may be your husband's...
I assume that you are talking about doing an IUI with donor sperm instead of the IVF with DH?... I think that it is a good idea - must less costly... I think that if there is anyway possible, it is a great idea to "mix" it up ;o)
I will keep you posted
I had an appt at the clinic yesterday to draw blood to check my progestrone levels
I asked them about donor sperm BUT they want me to stay positive and will not discuss it until after a negative preganancy test on the 7th of october, I hope they are right and it is positive but I am just trying to be realisitc
