Don't want procedure near O time!!

I am supposed to meet with my doc about having a histerosalpagoog or however it's spelled.  She wants to make sure that my fibroid is not blocking a tube or anything and make sure all is okay inside.  She already scheduled the date for the procedure, which is early next month.

Here is my problem, that same weekend I had plans and it might be an ovulation weekend for me.  Will this procedure most likely cause any bleeding afterward?  If so, I want to postpone. I think my doc thinks I'm having problems conceiving but actually this was my first month trying.  I told her that before but she said that I'm 37 and should make sure everything is okay.

If I postpone, what if I happen to conceive right before then and they go in there digging around?  I'm pretty sure they'd give me a pregnancy test first but what if it's too early?  I know I'm being paranoid, but I just don't feel like going through all this stuff if it's not necessary.

And is this histerowhatever the same thing as an HSG I see others referring to?

Hysterosalpingogram is the HSG. Call and speak to your doctor's nurse. I don't know if there is a risk of the egg getting flushed away or not, but I would tell them that it's going to be around ovulation time for you. They may want to move the procedure up or back.

Thanks for the real spelling.  She only told me over the phone and I thought she said hysterectomy at first and I said no way, I still want kids!! LOL

But looks like I will postpone it or I'll wait to see how my cycle goes since it's been pretty irregular.

Thanks!

when i had my hsg, it was done at a specific time right after af and prior to ovulation. i was directly told not to bd until after the hsg just in case i o'd early. i got pregnant 3/4 days after the procedure and went on to mc. the doc said that was just a coincidence and that is why they do the test prior to ovulation so as to not disrupt a possible pregnancy. good luck and God Bless!!!

Oh, okay.  I still haven't had the consult with her and that's why I'm so confused.  My consult is about two weeks before the procedure.  She had to write me in for the procedure now because she had to seal the dates in early.  But I guess she'll discuss the cycle days with me at the consult.  That makes sense to do it right after AF.

Thanks a bunch!!
