Dr says to much sex to get pregnant!

Thought I would share. I have sex have been since I got married almost every day. At least 5 days a week. My RE said this is bad for getting pregnant! He said everyother day no more them 3 times a week, but sex on the EVENING of a + OPK then the NEXT EVENING also.  THis was best for getting pregnant. He also said 2 or 3 days prior to O if you can catch it. He said any more and you lower the spern count of healthy men! Wow. So I am cutting back:( Thought some of you would like to know.

What he says is true.Usually having sex on the days of ovulation are your best chances.Having sex everyday doesn't give you more chances if you are not ovulating.

I have heard this too, I also heard that men pleasing themselfs can cause issues with getting pregnant too.

I was going to say something to you about that the other day when I looked at your chart. My RE said every other day during fertile window then once or twice each day after pos opk until o is confirmed. Twice a day after opk is not recommended if s/a issues. Most women will o within 24-48hrs after a pos opk.

Blah. what exactly did your doctor say...No more than 3xs a week during ovulation? Or no more than 3Xs a week ever????? I would like to know exactly seeming as 7 xs a week of every week of every month is my frequency...perhaps thats why I'm two years ttc and counting...

No more then every other day 3 x a week all the time! it means sex, blow jobs and him masterbating (masturbating) too! He can not ejaculate more then every other day three times a week.

Hi, just wanted to add what we have been told with regards to frequency and TTC. My partner has a low sperm count and we have only recently been told to try and abstain for 5 days prior to my OPK+ and then to BD every other day. In the real world this is very difficult as unless you have assisted ovulation or know the exact day you are going to ovulate then its difficult to count backwards 5 days!!! We have been TTC for almost 5 years now and am testament to the fact that for us having sex every day doesnt work! Good luck to everyone TTC

Ehh, I would just slow down and only start having a lot of sex during or around ovulation. In between, maybe about 1-2 times a week.

It's funny b/c we ALWAYS tried this method, every month. And the month that we finally concieved this baby, we had sex everyday for a week, and exactly 24 hours after the last time we had sex, we had our iui and I got pregnant! :) Everyone's just different, I guess! :)

Sex (masturbation, etc.) every other day is better because the abstinence in between helps the sperm count build up.  If you know when you are going to ovulate you really should have sex the night before you ovulate and then every other day until a temperature rise indicating that you ovulated.  Then it's a free for all!  :-)

I have a friend with 4 kids and she said she had sex every day for the month she wanted to get pregnant, and it worked. I tried, and it nearly killed me, and no pregnancy.

4 out of 6 pregnancies I've had, we BD on CD's 10, 12 & 14 of the week of O......the rest of the month just a few random times.  w/1 pregnancy it took 3 months to conceive...same days, & w/1 pregnancy was only on CD12.  Thats when I had my PAINFUL cyst, so my poor hubby barely go any for a while!
