Early Testing... think I got a BFP at 7 dpo

I'm not sure if I should say this just yet, *don't want to jinx myself" BUT.. I just tested a few minutes ago using FRER and got a BFP! It is VERY FAINT so I called my doctors office and she said "but there are two lines?" I said yes, very faint but there is two, she said well then it looks like you are pregnant. I am thinking I ovulated the 23rd, SO, I think you can test early with FRER. I have to go to the hospital when my son gets home in about an hour and get some blood work done. I told her I don't want the simple ones, she said she will tell them do all the quantitatives on me that they can do! I told her I was tired of messing around having my blood taken! She started laughing. I can't wait to tell my husband, but I want to make sure that it comes out higher then 25 first, no mistaking telling him, don't want to get him too excited if I'm not. Wish me luck..

I forgot to mention.. I let it sit in my urine for about 10 minutes. That might be vital testing early

I've heard of early BFP's so it's not uncommon. And it's possible you could have ovulated earlier also.  I hope you don't think I'm trying to be a downer, but I'd be a little leerie of leaving the test in the urine for ten minutes.  If I were you I'd take another test and leave it in for only 5 seconds as FRER recommends.  Now you make me want to go home and experiment with some tests LOL.

I hope it's another BFP!!!  Let us know!!

well I went and I'm not sure what tests they did but on the lab work paper it said hcg qual pregnancy and right below that it said hcg quan, I'm not sure if qualitative is the same as quantitative or not but the *HCG QUAL PREGNANCY* was what was checked for them to do. And so they tested and I asked the lab tech if I could get the results tonight and she said sure but we can't do it over the phone so if you could come back in in about an hour they can give you the results. We so I went looking at wal-mart with my son for a few while waiting. We go back and the girl at the counter is the same B*T*C that was extremely rude to me and also busted all my veins when I had my M/C in May. I was like O Boy here we go. She knows me well because I told her off big time when it happened and then my sister who works with her also told her off. So yeah, she doesn't like me very well, she opened up the window and said, "do you need something" in a smirky voice and I said, " I came back to see if my results are back in for a pregnancy test." She said,"What do you hope it is?" I said, "above 5." She said "do you want this printed out or do you want me to just tell you?" I said "either."  She printed it out and handed it to me and walked out of the back door, again HOW RUDE. It didn't have any numbers on it at all, it just said pregnancy test.. negative. So now I don't know what to think. I have a question if any of you can answer. Would any of you happen to know when after conception would you for sure be able to see it on blood tests?.. a few days.. a few weeks?? I'm not sure if I should just forget about it or have them test me again in a week or so. Please advise..
Thanks, Patty

I didn't use any clomid, the only medication I am on is Metformin.

Sounds like you had a crazy ordeal with that woman.  I don't understand how people who work in positions like that are not sensitive to people who are going through this **** we go through.  But the qualitative test only gives you a yes or no answer, which means it will say yes only if your hcg is over 25.  However, the quantitative test will tell you the actual number of hcg and if it's over 5 then you are most likely pregnant.  So, a negative on a qualitative test doesn't rule you out yet.  I'd wait till the morning and test again or wait a few days and have a quantitative test done.  I think 10 days past ovulation is a good time to have a blood test done.

I am sooo sorry about your ordeal!  My lab folks are the same way - I'm with paranoidpattie, though, I don't understand how people who are in that line of work aren't more sensitive by nature!  Oh, well - another burden for us to get thru to get our angels, eh?

I think 7dpo is kinda early and am surprised that the doc even ordered the blood work, really!  I wouldn't rule yourself out - give it another week (I know - that sounds like an eternity!!! but it's worth it in the end ...) and test again!

Good luck and SSBD to you and all!!
