Additional Info: I have always had mostly absent or irregular cycles - and in my adult/married life been proven to be (at least generally) anovulatory with multiple cysts on my ovaries, although missing other PCOS symptoms (testosterone okay, thyroid and sugars okay, not overweight, etc). I have two children with the help of my good friend Clomid. I have charted my waking temp for the better part of 5 years now and occassionally I will have sustained elevated temperatures
(maybe 10 times in last five years), just like I do when on Clomid - maybe not as sharp of a rise, maybe not as high of temps, but pretty much the same. I'm wondering if those cycles are ovulatory, since the rise above my coverline is sustained for at least 10 days each time (seem to still have short luteal 10-12 days when not on Clomid) - or is it possible to have the sustained temps right before menses
and still be anovulatory? Baby #2 is almost 11 months, and I got a cycle in July, now I'm what appears to be 7 dpo (would be a 53 day cycle when period come) and wondering... I've seen many places that more than a 35 day cycle probably isn't ovulatory.
I think if you see a shift, even though not a big shift then you did ovulate. You can ovulate late in your cycle. You can search fertilityfriend charts for women who conceived with long cycles. Some of them O'd on CD35 or later and got a BFP. I've read that your chances are slimmer (not impossible of course) for getting a BFP if you O that late only because of something to do with the quality of the egg.
Usually with an anovulatory chart you won't see temps shift and stay in a different range. I've seen several anovulatory charts where temps went up and down like roller coasters but I'd say if you had a sustained temp range shift then you O'd.
