External would not give you an accurate reading. You need to have an internal u/s for accuracy.
You cannot judge what your true lining thickness is by this report. But, yes, if your measurment is only 1mm, you would have much trouble conceiving.. but AGAIN... YOU CANNOT RELY ON THIS TEST FOR AN ACCURATE READING!!!!! Please contact your doctor, and get a transvaginal u/s scheduled for your next cycle around ovulation... that will give you a true idea of the thickeness.
It was an ultrasound, it was external, not internal.
But everytime I've seen my doctors they've not been particualry fussed.
Will this cause me problems conceiving?
Do you know the name of the test they did?
the uterine lining starts at about 3mm thick at the end of the menstrual period. After estrogen levels rise sufficiently, the lining of the uterus thickens by about 1mm each day during cycle.
Your lining starts to shed as it gets closer to AF which, causes AF because your not pregnant.
1mm is very thin. I am not sure it that is because you were close to AF or if there is a true problem.
You need to have a transvaginal ultrasound on about cycle day 11-14 for a True measurment on the thickness.
Hi!
They didn't mention it at all, it was a scan of my ovaries since I have a cyst on one. But I wondered since it was 1mm if it would stop me conceiving?
Well, around ovulation (around cycle day 14), your lining should measure at anywhere from 8-12mm. Did they tell you why they did your measurments so late?
