Estrogen question

Hi ladies.  I have been doing Folistim injections (50mg) this cycle.  I started them on cd3 and I am on cd15 now.  I went to the RE today and I still have no follicles that measure to be mature!!! I have been taking these injections for 12 days now and I am sooo frusterated!  Also, my bloodwork on cd12 showed that my estrogen had gone down from 95 to 82.  If my bloodwork comes back today and shows that my estrogen has gone down even more, the RE will cancel this cycle.  If my estrogen has gone up, then I'll do two more days of Follistim and return to the RE on Friday.  I am just praying that it goes up!!

What has your estrogen been before ovulation??

I just had my er this morning. I am 43 years old and this is my first ivf.I have never been pregnant, though spent years trying to prevent it. lol
Wow I feel like I was punched in the stomach 150 times after the ER.  I had a very high ovary that contained 5 follies and the RE said he would do his best to get them.  They were able to retrieve 7eggs.  I initially was told that there were 8 follies.  Is this a good number of follies for my age? Im just curious.  I realize its all about the quality.  We have another issue with my Husband. He has twitching sperm. He had a biopsy a few months ago of his testes and has been on clomid since them.  We have two challenges.. egg quality and poor sperm quality. Anyone else out there with twitching sperm issue? He supplied a new sample today to see if meds may have boosted up count. He has two children from previous marriage and we were suprised with any sperm issues.
We are putting it in the Lord's hands. Its out of my control and its the worst feeling-no control but I am having hope and faith.  We will find out tomorrow if there are any viable sperm and or eggs-wow this is stressful!! prayers to all :) Faith and Hope:) We would love to be blessed with one child or even twins.  We are praying for all . I found a beautiful prayer on youtube. Ive been saying it everynight!

Well with your estrogen past 200, I am sure that one follie will mature by the time of trigger :) When do you go back for another blood draw and U/S?

Thanks for the info on OHSS. I have been using a measuring tape and my belly is pretty bloated, crampy now and then. They told me it will get worse if I get preggo...so time will tell. It scares me, but if I get a baby out of it, I will deal with it!

I think they like your estrogen to be about 150-200 per mature follicle. Have they tried up'ing your dose? Maybe they need to start you at 75 for a couple days and then drop to 50...maybe 75 will jump start them and 50 will let them slow down and grow to a good size??

I did gonal-f just now, 225, 225, 150, 150, 150, 150, 75 and I stimulated pretty good. I had 8 total follies and 4 fully mature and 4 close behind. My E2 level went from the 400's to the 800's and now over 1100. They warned me about OHSS too. You mentioned that you had it before?? when did your symptoms start and what symptoms did you have? I am so scared to get that.

Ow Really!! sorry, the nurse mentioned it to me that this ismy right protocol.  I started with bcp then lupron, gonal f( 450) then they reduced to 300 then down to 150, due to rising of estrogen, i did also menopur (150, then 75)

I'm sorry to hear about OHSS. this is really sucks!!!! we seems cant get the right one. I am worrying also on my next cycle for they will be lowering my meds, what if my body doesnt respond well. OH MY!!!

Thanks for listening also... goodluck ...its just so hard to go on this journey.. isn't it?

I first noticed MAJOR lower abdominal pain when my OHSS started.  I had an IUI on cd 12 and my symptons started on cd 14.  They told me that I would have some cramping from the IUI but when the cramping didn't go away, I knew something was wrong.  I had to drink LOTS of Gatorade and pretty much stay on bed rest.  It totally sucked.

I hope nobody on here has to worry about having OHSS.

My estrogen is now up to 284, so that's good.  But I still have no mature follicles.  My biggest measured 1.3, so I still have a ways to go.

Good luck to everyone!

I did Follistim 75mg two cycles ago and ended up with OHSS.  I was miserable for a month!  That's why we decided to do only 50mg this month.  But it seems that it isn't working either!  We just can't find the right dose.

Thanks for the info.

hi there, it was the opposite thing that had happened to me when my last cycle got cancelled due to a risk of OHSS, my level went up so high (8000+). i started with 140 then went up like skyrocket(sp). i had a lots of mature follicles but my RE said its so risky to retrieve and transfer. I was so frustrated.

My RE said that it could only go up to 4500 to go thru with the process, more than that its not advisable and risky.

I don't know  about being low though.. sorry. My very first try got cancelled also due to low follicles. I had only 3, they wanted them to have you at least  4 or more.

I hope that your level will rise and you can go thru with this cycle.. GOOD LUCK..
