FET #2: transfer 2 or 3 embryos?

I'm about to embark on my second medicated FET. In short, I have unexplained IF and we've been trying for 2.5 years. I've had 4 Clomid IUIs, 1 fresh IVF cycle with a single ET, FET with two blasts transferred which resulted in a BFP but I miscarried at 7 weeks (never saw a heartbeat). I'm about to be 35 and I have 11 embryos on ice. My DH and I don't want multiples. (We would consider reduction if more than one took; definitely if it were triplets or more. Maybe if it were twins.)

My question is whether we should put back 2 or 3 embryos this time? I know there will be a higher rate of success with 3, but also with that comes a higher rate of twins. Twins might be okay, but one would be ideal. I just don't think I can take failure any more. I have a straw of 2 "perfect" embryos and a straw of 1 "perfect" and 2 "very good" so presumably, the straw with 3 embryos wouldn't be as strong as the straw with 2. Plus frozen embryos aren't as good as fresh. Such a tough decision. I don't want to be greedy going for 3, but again, I'm not sure I can handle another failure. What would you do? Anyone out there in a similar situation as me?

Just wanted to know how was it? Did you have twin?

two is best. the egg quality is really hard to determine for sure. so cover your bases and make sure for all the effort and costs that you at least have a 50/50 chance :)

thank you all. i really do appreciate your POVs. after much deliberation, i think we'll stick with two. we can handle twins. i'm lucky to have so many embryos and to have this decision to make. sometimes being on this terribly long journey wears me down, but it will happen when it's supposed to happen. patience is key. hopefully this is it for us. good luck to you!

Dont gamble if you you dont think twins or triplets are for you!!  Go the safe route...if you have 11 embies...you have 11 tried to get one baby...so that seems pretty promising. Good luck to you

Just put one in.  If you are not ready for twins or triplets dont put in two or three.  Reduction is a horrible back up plan and frozen are sometimes better then fresh cycles (Im pregnant with twins from a FET).  You say you cant take failure but you CAN take aborting one of your babies? Makes no sense to me what so ever.

Well, if you do two and it doesn't work, you still have the straw w/ the three, right? And it's not as if they go "bad" quickly, so do the one w/ two and if it doesn't work, do the one w/ three.  You wouldn't be losing anything and you'd have less of a chance of multiples...
Good luck!!

i'd not put in more than 2 because multiples scares the crud out of me too....
i'd do your 2 perfect ones.
good luck with your decision and sticky baby dust!
