FSH/Natural Pregnancy

I am 32yo and recently found out that I have an elevated fsh level of 10.8 (June 2010) and 10.9 (June 2010) after 1 year of TTC.  I have seen an RE who suggested IVF (which is out of the question financially).  He also suggested IUI with injectables and wants to be VERY aggressive.  I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that conceived naturally.

I have been taking prenatal vitamins but have recently added B12, B6, Folic Acid, CoQ10, DHEA.  I also ordered and will begin taking wheatgrass tablets and powder, royal jelly tablets, and L-Arginine to help with egg quality and to try to lower the fsh.

Any advice (and especially stories of people that have achieved a pregnany with elevated fsh) would be great!

Scared and I feel like I am running out of time.

I would second the fertility acupuncture option as well! my acupuncturist has had success stories for women with FSH as high as 15...you could explore the traditional chinese medicine as well..
good luck to you!!

Hi!

Dietary adjustments can do a lot to lower FSH.  Try reading The Fertility Diet, by Jorge Chavarro.  Goji berries (native to China) also supposedly help improve ovarian function.  If you buy them on line, they cost a fortune. Downright prohibitive, actually.  Instead, I went to a Chinese herbal store and paid $7 for a large bag.  Fertility acupuncture is something else to consider as well.

Good luck!

Hello wantsecondbaby, I to have low levels, and I have changed by diet, and also taking a multi-vitamin with everything in it....no one didn't recommend anything like that to me....so I would just keep the faith, and try and conceive pregnany an normal as possible. You don't want your body to be worn out after the baby, you still want to live a healthy and productive life.

My dr says an FSH under 15 is fine, although under 10 is ideal.
Yes, people get pregnant naturally w/ an FSH of 10.8.
If I were you, I would go with being aggressive and this is why: in May I had an FSH of 8.9 and like 14 antral follicles.  I was going to start IVF in May (after a failed iui in April) but my husband wanted to go to his best friends wedding in Maui. My dr said not to worry, that nothing was going to change drastically in two months.  Well, my FSH jumped from 8.9 to 11.7 in two months and my antral follicle count dropped from 14 to 9.
I am 40 which partially explains it. You're lucky that you are a lot younger than 40 and that most of your eggs are probably good (most of mine are bad).
But don't let anyone tell you that FSH can't jump suddenly--it can : (
Good luck and baby dust to you
