a quick retake of my situation is i'm 33 i have only one tube and it's not functionable. i was told by an RE i was seeing in 2009 that i had high FSH levels. she did an ovarian
reserve ultra sound on me and said i looked great and i wouldn't have a problem. then i went to antother RE for a 2nd opinion and she told me that it wasn't my FSH being high, but that i had elevated estrogen
blood test and my results came back normal. so i started taking clomid and on day 10 i went for my SSH saline sonohystogram where they inject saline fluid into my uterus) my RE said the clomid was working well for me and that everything looked good. then when we had our consult that day she stated that i look like i'm going to be a good candidate for IVF. today i called to see how my FSH level was and the nurse called me back and said my FSH is 9. when i asked her if thats ok she said it's kind of high and the drs will run day 3 and day 10 in conjunction with eachother. she then told me that the dr's will have a meeting to discuss it and get back to me next week. she was not very informative or personable for that matter, she was rushing me off the phone which was throwing me off. i wanted to ask what my day 3 levels were. can anybody relate to my issue? has anybody had a successful IVF procedure with FSH 9???
HI.... Girl... maybe your hormones are out of wack.... ask your doctor about starting some herbs like vitex and red clover , wild yams.... it may help. Also pray too. God loves to hear his children, call to him for help! I am in the same situation but much worst but I call on Him... I will have a testimony comig soon, and you will too. God bless you... :)
although 9 is alittle high.........it's not that bad. Ideally I think it's best to be under 8 but there are people on here that are getting pregnant with higher FSH then you have. You will get some eggs but just not as many as someone else your age. Just remember QUALITY over QUANITY!!!! Good Luck
Your FSH is a little high but that doesn't mean it won't work! I have been doing acupuncture noew for 7 weeks and it has really balanced my hormones as well as relaxed me, I would try giving that ago I have heard other great things about acupuncture to so can't hurt ging it ago
I was told anything under 10 is average (although 9 would be "high average"). I'm surprised from everything I've read and the drs I've seen (I've had 4 REs) that 9 would be concerning enough that they would have to discuss it. Maybe it was your estradiol level? My highest FSH was 9.5 (most recently 8.9) and the drs I've seen haven't batted an eye.
I just finished the book Inconceivable and the author's FSH was 30 the month she conceived her daughter. Great book, very helpful.
Good luck!
One more thing, they say the highest FSH level is the one to look at...my highest was 9.5 and I conceived naturally (no fertility drugs, no iui, no ivf)...so if they balk, I'd definitely get a second opinion
Mine is close to 11 and I've been able to conceive. My RE likes to see anything under 10 to be considered for IVF. We are able to conceive naturally just having problems carrying one to term.
