nishomey: every pregnancy test has a "don't believe me after after a certain amount of time" warning on it. Some are 10minutes.. Some are a few hours. I'd read the package and see or take another test. Good luck

a line is a line IF it shows up during that test's time period.
don't drive yourself nuts digging through the trash looking at old tests.....
if it is a real line, it will be darker in a few days.
after 8 years of this i know of what i speak :)
just hang in there....

Hi Marquette, its always best to use a name brand, but I would wait a few more days before trying again and wait for more of your HCG to build up if you are indeed pregnant, best wishes to you!
I bought a store brand called Sure-Aid and the first time i urinated on it i got the pink line in the control area and 20 min later i looked at it a very faint pink line was there what to do should i go get another one?
I agree with the buying the digital. sometimes when we want it so bad, we tend to squint, and change the angles of the hpt, look at it under different light, all in order to see a faint line. Digitals have a different way of measuring hcg levels and are more accurate. If it is positive, you should see results WITHIN 2 minutes, and if there is enough hcg the results may even show up immediately. Good luck. go with the digital because they are really accurate. they can show up as early as 11dpo (even though they don't really say so)
I know the digital is the way to go... I'll take one after a few days have passed. Pregnant or not, it's too early to test anyway. I don't know if it's true or not, but I have it in my head that the old school tests will detect and show trace amounts of the preg hormone, so if I see a very faint I tell myself there are trace amounts of hormone. I just need to be patient... like I said, too early to test but I'm so anxious to know... we've all been there. And it's hard to know if I am imagining things or really experiencing symptoms. Then again, here I am at 8:30 and I'm ready to fall asleep. Fingers crossed!!
Buy the digital. It is more expensive but then you aren't torturing yourself wondering if it's acutally a line or not...
Thanks everyone for your uplifting responses :) I've read that a faint line is positive, but these took a long time to develop so I'm scared to accept that it might be positive and get excited. I guess I'll wait 2-3 more days and test again. It's still a few days before I'm even expecting my period. I guess I just feel it... good look to each of you.
I understand the confusion on these tests. I took some target brand tests and had a faint positive on 2 of them. I then went to the store and bought a two pack of first response and I got the same faint lines. I called a friend that was a nurse and she said a faint line is a line and that means positive. She said to take a pic and send it to her and I did. She said CONGRATULATIONS!!! you are prego! So, still being unsure I sent my husband to the store and bought a digital and took it first thing the next morning and it was positive- I was pregnant. So, I think that is your answer. I unfortunatelly mc though at 6 wks. Best of luck to you!
Yes, I did experience that same issue as well. The first test I used was a no name brand and I just assumed it was negative. BUT the next day I said what the heck would it hurt to take another one so I got a better brand and the line was very faint. I wasn't sure so I got on the internet and there was so much conflicting information. The following day I went to Freds and got another no name brand because I really didn't want to be wasting money but believe it or not the line got darker. So I was like maybe this is for real. I went back and got another one and it was the same. My husband was like baby I can't see a line because it was so light. So after that I decided that I would stop getting those kind and just get a digital one and from that point on everything came back as pregnant. I about died. Its been a long struggle and reading your story it seems its been a long road for you as well. I had all the signs you had and just hoped and prayed that everything was okay and that all the test were correct. Well, surely enough I took bt a week later and I was pregnant. Now I am 17 weeks with twins. Its been a bumpy road with alot of up and downs but I am so thankful. I say don't give up and keep your faith because I know if it can happen for me I know it can happen for anyone. I know this might not help much but hopefully you will see that its not over till its over.. :) GOD BLESS
I did the exact same thing after our first round of IUI. I took a test every day the second week of our 2ww. On that Thursday I took a Walgreens test and THOUGHT I saw a faint blue line. I called my husband who then called the help line on the box. The lady said that if there is any blue line its a postive, no matter how faint AND they sent me two free clearblue digital pregnancy tests. I ended up taking a digital pregnancy test Fridat and it was postive but I ended up miscarrying. Best of luck!
