bny: CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! I am sooooo happy for you! If possible, I would get your blood test tomorrow! Please let us know how it goes!

G_S: Wow! Looks like there were three of us having ultrasounds yesterday. Best of luck with your IUI today and tomorrow! I hope it's a BFP this month :-)

2wonderfulboys: Any news?

hopeful: You're getting closer too O too right? Are you being monitored or just waiting for a positive OPK?

Well, I'll probably ovulate tonight, based on when I took the trigger, so we BD'd last night and will again tonight and tomorrow night. I forgot who asked me last month if ovidrel stung as much as novarel. Well, I had NO issues last month with ovidrel, but this month, they gave me novarel instead, and wow, the injection site is still sore!!! It didn't hurt much going in, but it got super sore after. It's still red and tender! If I don't get pregnant this month, I think I'll stick to ovidrel from now on. Plus it's nice not to have to deal with all the mixing and sterilizing everything...

...but hopefully I won't have to worry about next month ;-)

SSBD to all!!!

bny: That is amazig news!! I hope you do your blood test tomorrow!

Heather: I went to my RE today for a Soundig and Saline Ultrasound and they noticed that I had a folie and that I am ready to ovulate. I go back for IUI tomorrow and Friday morning. I'm very excited that I have a follie even though I didn't take the Femara. I'll keep you posted.

Yay! That's great news, hopeful! Wow, so many of us are on almost the exact same schedule this month! I'll probably ovulate sometime later tonight, G_S had an IUI today and one scheduled for tomorrow. 2wonderful boys also had a follicle u/s yesterday, and now you're ready to O too! Maybe it's a good sign! Wouldn't that be awesome if we all followed in bny's footsteps and got our BFPs this cycle? Best of luck with your IUIs tomorrow and Friday!!

Tina: Where are you in your cycle?

Wish you a healthy pregnancy....hope we all will join you soon.

Heather5 - happy BDing :).

My US went a little rough...the nurse kinda went in and out...it was quick but felt she was harsh. And then 8 hrs after my IUI i started spotting...have been spotting since :( am so low right now. am probably ovulating right now...but the nurse asked me to abstaing as i have my iui tomorrow again...i am more worried about the spotting....anyone experiend it...does it mean anything bad??

G_S: thank you! I hope its for real and it sticks and all you yall will get your BFPs this cycle too! : )     I imagine that the spotting is just from cervical irritation from the IUI itself... and that wouldn't interfere with you getting preggo at all!  Your in my prayers that these IUI's work for you this cycle!!! I cant' wait to see yalls BFP's post! : ) keep me updated!!!!!

OK, girls! Looks like I ovulated yesterday, as my temps are up this morning :-)

bny: You're so sweet! Thank you :-) Did you have your blood test yet? I'm sooo excited for you!

G_S: Is the spotting gone? I agree with bny...it shouldn't hurt your pregnancy chances at all. Good luck with IUI #2 today!

hopeful: Best of luck with your IUI too :-)

Take care, everyone, and keep us posted!

Good to hear your IUI went well, hopeful! Bny, any news on your beta yet? And G_S, how did your IUI go? Did the spotting stop?

I'm actually a little confused right now...my temps are up, and based on when I had the trigger it makes sense that I ovulated last night (36 hours after trigger), but I just checked and my CP is still high and soft and I still have some EWCM! I always dry up after O (or it gets creamy). Hmmmm! Maybe only one of the eggs ruptured yesterday, and the other one is still about to. What do you guys think? Guess we should BD again today...just in case.

SSBD to everyone!

Hey everyone!!! well just heard back and my beta is 36 13dpiui (not even a full 13 days though!) is that ok?? it sounded a little low to me. but the lady at the office said it was great.. so i hope she is right!  i am so used to seeing such high numbers on here! my progesterone was 45 which is the highest its ever been! i go in monday for another beta!! i'll probably take an hpt everyday until then haha!

hey heather!   you know after i've used the trigger i have more ewcm than normal, esp on femara... and it does last till even after O (even after O has been confirmed on ultrasound, then again i've always had one follie left behind unruptured!) i'd say defintely bd tonight.. i've also heard cp can change throughout the day.. so its only a good predictor up till O time but not after!  but let the bd fest continue for insurance!!!

hopeful: glad the IUI went well! relax and i hope this is the last tww for everyone for a long time! : )

Bny, I think that's a great number to be only 13 dpo! I checked betabase and they say the median HCG number for 12 dpo is 36 and 13 dpo is 62 (with a range from 4 to 575), so your numbers are definitely within the normal range. And remember, it also depends on when implantation occurred. Someone with an early implantation will of course have a higher number than someone with a late implantation.

Oh and thanks for sharing your EWCM / CP experience :-) I will definitely BD again tonight, though...just in case!

bkny - ur numers look fine ... i will pray that they double and tripple and that u have a safe pregnancy.

For me...my spotting went away...thanks God. My doc sad the same things as Heather and bkny said...it will not hinder with my getting pregnant...it's because the speculum irritaes the uterus or cervix when it goes in and busts a vein or 2....doc sait it shud go away in a day or 2 and thats when the egg will be travelling in the fallopian tube...so am a bit relaxed on that part.
My tems were not up in the morning...so had not ovulated yet i guess...but had cramping around the time of my IUI...so i guess i wud have been ovulating then....i will check my temps tomorrow morning and let you girls know...hoping they go up.
Today's IUI went fine...came home and slept for an hr and then went to work.

I have a question on the CM after the trigger shot...my CM is not EW after the shot ...it is white and a bit thick but definitely the CM increases after the shot...whats ur experience?

hopeful- you me and heather seem to be running in parallel :) good luck to us all
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
G_S: My CM was not EW either after the trigger last month...or so I thought. I actually thought I had already ovulated because it turned creamy the day before my CD13 sonogram. But my RE used on of those long q-tip thingies and carefully pushed around my cervix, then gave me a mirror and showed me how there was in fact stretchy CM up there. So just because you don't see it on the tp, doesn't necessarily mean it's not there. I even checked internally and couldn't find any. But obviously there was some right there where it counts :-) This month, on the other hand, I saw stretchy CM right before O (and after the trigger).

OK, girls! I had another high temp this morning and my medhelp tracker has already given me my ovulation day and coverline. FF will probably give me one tomorrow...unless my temperature is way off tomorrow morning. So, I'm officially back in the looooooong 2WW!

Have a great weekend, everyone, and SSBD to all!

hi heather...that's interesting to know that u do not necessary see the EW CM...

I am 2 DPIUI now....my temps did not rise as much i had thought...crossing my fingers that i did ovulate. BDed last night also ...dh had left for a business travel...will not see him for 3 weeks... :( but i hope i have a surprise positive for him when he comes back.

Hey girls!!! thank you so much for thinking of me! i just got home from work (3am! ) and am waking up in 4 hours to head to get my second beta.. and i'm sure i'll POAS before i go, just so i won't have any suprises! i want to make sure there are two lines still! i hope the numbers are better!!

How are yall?? looks like yall will be in the 2ww together, and i'm hoping and praying for yall that this is the last tww for a long long long time to come! : )   G_S i hope you have a great suprise for Dh when he comes home! : ) keep me updated on everything! and GOOD LUCK! : )

bny: Wow! Late night last night, huh? Best of luck today, and keep us posted when you get back...after a nap, maybe :-)

No news here. BBs are sore, but they were more sore than normal last month too, so I'm sure it's the femara/HCG combo that is responsible for that. But, yeah, I agree G_S, the 2WW is always soooooo slow! I kinda wish I could fast-forward 10 days or so, to test, and then come back. LOL!

SSBD!!!

374593_tn?1257883550
Hey girls! i went for my beta this morning, and i freaked out.. and still kinda am!   i took another hpt (FRER) thinking it would be as dark as the test line now (17dpiui) but it wasn't.. it didn't seem much darker than the one i took friday (4dpiui) it was wider but not  much darker.. and then i started thinking i dont' feel my bb's as sore as they have been the past few days.. so i'm really nervous about the call this afternoon.. has anyone heard of an FRER not getting as dark as the test line, but the beta still going up?? gosh i'm nervous!   anyhow i'll keep yall updated!    Hope all is well with everyone!  keep me updated on yalls tww! : )
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
Oh, bny! Try not to worry about the HPT. I tried to look up pictures of positive FRERs for you on FF, and although most were photos of early HPTs, I found a few late HPTs with lines that were not as dark as the control. Plus, remember that Friday's test has been sitting for a few days, and that can kinda alter the way it looks anyway, so it might not be entirely accurate when you compare a new test with an old one. I'm sure everything is fine :-)

Let us know when you get the results!
Blank
405855_tn?1217104367
bkny-Heather is right....a positive is a positive on POAS tests. So wait till u get the beat...let us know what the numbers were. Hope they sky rocket

Heather - u saw what i meant?? last cycle after ovulation the temps were so high and this cycle they r low. Can you fig out from my chart when i ovulated?
And great that u have sore bbs...thats a sign :) I feel nothing really...hehe! dunno if i should start preparing myeself to get ready for yet another negative

hey girls.. well this morning when i woke up i just had a bad feeling.. i had let myself get excited this weekend (we've never made it this far!) and woke up and decreased breast tenderness well they called with my beta results they are only 85.... they said that they are concerned for ectopic  since its still rising... (do yall think it could have risen tihs weekend - my bbs got more sensitive than ever!) and then is falling becuase of a MC? i only have one functional side, so i'm terrified to loose that to an ectopic... they said it could still be viable (prob just saying that to make me not totally hysterical) that i could hve had twins and one mc... (but somehow i dont' think so, what about yall?) they just wanted to ultrasound me june16.. and no bloodwork until then.. but i begged to have repeat in 48 hours.. to see if its going down like a MC.. if its still going up, we might have to cancel our vacation in addition to loosing this pregnancy!   Its just typical for us i feel like, more freaking bad news!!!
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
OMG! Bny, I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this! I'm glad you convinced them to do another beta. It doesn't necessarily mean it's an ectopic. Like you said, the numbers could be on their way back down again...BUT, I hope it's a viable pregnancy and that you're either just experiencing a slow initial rise OR that you had two eggs starting the implantation process and only one actually took. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers, bny! I REALLY hope everything works out for you and your little bean!!!
Blank
374593_tn?1257883550
hey everyone! so i woke up this morning (after being a total wreck last night all night, not stopping sobbing) and took another hpt and it was darker.. almost twice as dark as yesterdays.. (pretty much the same color as the test line, wheras so far the second line has been lighter) so what do yall think that means?? is that less likely a MC and more likely an ectopic? could a blighted ovum cause the same?? i don' t know what to do with myself to make the time pass by! i get bloodwork tomorrow, but dont' find out until thursday the results! (and i'll be at work when i get that phone call!) just thought i'd update yall. hope all is well with everyone else!
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
Maybe it's a good sign, bny! Maybe your numbers are rising at the rate they're suppose to... I sure hope so! As for the phone call on Thursday, could you maybe ask them when the results will be ready and ask if you could call them instead? That way, you could call them on your lunch break or something.

I'll be crossing my fingers that you'll get some good news on Thursday!!!
Blank
405855_tn?1217104367
hi bkny - sorry to hear that u r going thru this mental wreck....but keep the faith girl....it's very imp for u to stay positive.

heather5...guess what my temp raised to from 97.6 to 97.8 and this morning it was up to 98.2....could it mean i ovulated only now?? I go for my progesterone test thursday...moved it by one day. did u finally decide to go for the progesterone test?
Blank
374593_tn?1257883550
hello girls!!! alright well its done, i went for my beta this morning, after not sleeping at all last night! apparently the office closes at noon today so i wont' hear back till tomorrow morning ! ( i personally think someone needs to stay till i get my results haha!) so i'm going to try and pass the time! of course i took another hpt this morning (i think i'm clinically obsessive now, thanks to all of this!)  and it was as dark as it can get... so who knows what thats worth.. still have preg symptoms though so we'll see, they said they want it over 150... so i'm praying sooo hard that we can get some good news!    until then the time is passing slowly!

G_S good luck on your progesterone test!!! are you taking any supplements?? alright yall, well good luck, yall are in my prayers that we get a lot of BFP's this cycle! : )   sticky sticky ones at that! : )

You'll definitely be in my thoughts for the next 24 hours or so, bny! I hope they call you with some good news!!!

G_S: I think I'll be skipping the progesterone test this month. I'm already 7 dpo, and we're having our patio extended starting tomorrow, so I'm just going to assume the numbers are OK, based on last month. As for your chart, I still think you ovulated earlier, based on the trigger and the initial rise...but hey, maybe your temps are going tri-phasic!!!

Best of luck, girls! Sending you all lots and lots of super sticky baby dust!!!

bny: Boy oh boy have you been going through it. I hope you get really fab news tomorrow morning!

G_S: Good Luck tomorrow! I go for my progesterone tomorrow morning too. Everything was fine last month so I hope it'll be the same for this one.

DH and I went to a IVF Medication Class at me RE's tonight after work. It was longer than I thought it would be, 2 1/2 hrs. We learned about all the medications I would have to take and how to administer them. There's so much info tha tmy head is spinning! I'm so NERVOUS! But it's for a good cause so I am all for it. DH is nervous too about having to give me so many shots. Hopefully I will get a BFP next Thursday and not have to go through with the IVF process but we will see.

BFP's to all!!!!!
Blank

G_S good luck with your progesterone test today! : )

Hopeful:I too hope that yall don't have to go thru IVF and get your BFP this cycle! my RE"s office says that so many couples take the IVF class and then get preggo before moving to IVF, so i hope thats yalls case!: )
Heather: i hope everything is going good during your TWW!

Ok well i got a call from the dr's office and i just about fainted! my beta more than doubled the past 48 hours, its still on the lower side, but can't believe it! i thought it was doomed from what they told me and what my numbers were.. so they are thinking maybe it was a vanishing twin or something! anyhow just had to update! Yall have a great day! and lots of SSBD! : )
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
OMG, bny! That's great news! I am soooo happy that things are looking up for you :-)

G_S & hopeful: Good luck with your prog. tests today...I hope you both get a nice high number! I'll be crossing my fingers for both of you this month, so you won't have to worry about lap (G_S) or IVF (hopeful)!

As for me, my temp was up a little today...but I also didn't sleep that well last night, so I'm not sure if that's the reason or not. Other than that, BBs are still sore, and the trigger must be almost out of my system, because I got a superfaint, barely-there line this a.m. I also tested a couple of days ago and the line was faint then too, but stronger than today's result. So that makes sense, since they say it takes about 10 days for the trigger to leave your system, and I'm 8 dpo today and 9 days past trigger. I'm hoping that line will start getting stronger again, though :-)

I agree with hopeful! BFPs for all!!!

Blank
405855_tn?1217104367
hopefultobeblessed- it's great that ur RE gives classed....it is good to know what all it involves ahead of time. I hope u get ur BFP soon

bkny -- great to hear that your numbers wnet super high...frankly i was not worried about you...i knew in my heart that this positive is for real.

Heather- how is the new patio coming up ? Yeah u r right the HCG should be out of your system in 9-10days after trigger...i have my fingers crossed for you...

As for me...i got my progesterone results -- 27.42...so that does mean i ovulated with the trigger....so it's just that the temps are acting wierd. An you might be right heather...looks like i am getting a tri-phasic graph...my temps were high today as well...what does the tri-phasic graph mean though?

Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
G_S: A triphasic chart increases the chances of it being a pregnancy cycle. It can be found in both pregnancy and non-pregnancy cycles, but is more commonly seen when pregnant. Although, I've never had a triphasic chart...not even when I got pregnant last summer, so it really just depends.

...but it could be a good sign! Keep us posted if your temps continue to stay at a third higher level. We're all here to obsess with you!

:-)

bny: That's such amazing news!! I hope the great news keeps on comming!!!

G_S: Great numbers. My numbers were low. I'm at 9.1 so I have to take some pills to boost the numbers. I start tonight so I hope this doesn't mean i'm out this month.

I've decided to test early this month because I have a baby shower to go to the day after I get my results and don't want to be a total mess if I don't get the results i'm hoping for.

G_S " those are great numbers and yeaa triphasic temping!!! : )   its feeling like a lucky month!!!!

Thanks, girls ;-) I hope the line keeps getting darker too! But I know it was just the trigger today, though, so I'll probably wait a few days before I test again...

G_S: I'm not sure how fast the progesterone goes up after O, but I still think you ovulated earlier. I couldn't imagine it would take the trigger that long to kick in...so I'm still thinking possible triphasic!

hopeful: When are you testing? I hope it's a BFP, so you can celebrate more than one baby at the baby shower!!!

bny: I hope you're right about this being a lucky month! Take care of yourself and your little bean, and keep us posted!

Hi girls! I hope everyone had a good weekend! I'm now 12 dpo, and not feeling to positive about this month. My temps have been somewhat low for the past few days, but did go up a little again today. But I have not had any dull cramps, which is what I had both times I got pregnant in the past :-( I'm not giving up, though... Still hoping!

MamaTina: Glad you found us! I'm not sure about ovulating late on the trigger...I think most women ovulate between 36 and 40 hours after the shot, but I guess there could be exceptions to the rule. Are you being monitored by an RE? Oh, and I can totally relate to BD'ing becoming a chore after a while. It's just not very spontaneous when you have to plan it in advance :-) Oh, well...the things we do to get pregnant...LOL!

hopeful: Best of luck testing tomorrow!!! I hope you get two nice lines! I haven't tested since 8 dpo, which was probably my last day of trigger HCG (based on how superfaint the line was), so I know that's out of my system at least. But like I said above, I'm just not too sure about this month, so I think I'll just wait and test on Wednesday, which will be 14 dpo...but who, knows, I might break down and test tomorrow too :-)

G_S: If you happen to stop by one of those Internet cafes this week...I hope you're having a GREAT vacation!!!

Best of luck to everyone, and keep us posted!

Thanks, G_S! I know it's not officially over until AF shows, but I'm just not too optimistic at this point. Oh, well, looks like I'll be able to paint the dining room after all...

I'm so glad you're having such a great time in London! I can totally relate to being sleepy, though, as you're not just walking a lot more than you normally would, but I'm sure also a little jet lagged :-) Enjoy the rest of your vacation! And good luck when you do decide to test! We'll miss you!

Hi Guys. I tested this morning and got a BFN. I'm ok so far becuse I know it might be early for HCG to be dected at this stage. I'm 13 dpiui and I have no idea when I ovulated. I do a blood test this Thusday and I'm still hopeful.........but I'm sad at the same time.

Heather: Give it more time. I'm with G_S and bny. It's too soon to count yourself out.

bny: How exciting! I'm so happy for you right now. Enjoy!

G_S: You are in my prayers!

MamaTina: You'll probably have a nice high progesterone then...with two mature follies! And perfect timing for the trigger too!

hopeful: Sorry about the BFN, but you're right, it's still early...for both of us. Hopefully the next tests we take will have two strong lines, instead of just one!!!

SSBD!!!

Heather, I feel your pain.  AF should be here any day now for me too. I had a blood test yesterday that confirmed the BNF for my this cycle. I am all prepared for the IVF process to start. It's going to be a long cycle. About 6 to 8 weeks. I hope this works! How's everyone else?

As for the spelling errors, I do that ALL THE TIME on here! I just write way too fast, and then forget to read through it before I hit "post." LOL! So no worries :-)

I still haven't started, but she (AF) should be here anytime now...

Hope everyone else are doing well!

Gosh darn it, G_S! I'm so sorry AF decided to pay you another visit (you'd think she have enough to do over here...) However, I'm so happy to hear that you had a great vacation! You certainly deserved it :-)

So, you're taking a break for a couple of months? No meds, but still kinda trying? Or will you not TTC at all? I'll be doing another femara round, I think. I have my CD3 scan tomorrow, so I'll know more once I come back. By the way, what I wrote to hopeful about sticking around even if not using femara, applies to you too, G_S! I hope you'll continue to post here even if you're taking a break from the meds!!!

Take care!

hey girls!  hope everyone had a good week, we just got back from vaca late last night... everything was looking good, lots of morning sickness (which was not economical throwing up resort priced food!) sore bb,s urinating all the time. etc etc... we cancelled all of our activities we originally had planned, like scuba and other fun stuff, becuase we wanted to be so careful since i was preg..
well had our ultrasound today and no heartbeat and baby is measuring 2 weeks or so behind...: (    so i have to stop my progesterone and wait for my first mc to happen.. if it doens't happen they'll do a D&C after 3 weeks... so frustrated, down, and just numb to it all... We are sooo used to getting bad news, this whole thing seems like it was such a tease, A BFN would have been easier!... anyhow thats whats going on here... bad news as usual! : (

bny: I'm so sorry this is happening to you. That's some pretty sad news. I agree a BFN would have been a lot easier. Hang in there and know we are all hear for you.

G_S: Glad to hear you had a great vacation. Sorry to hear about AF thought. Seems that you, Heather and I were in the same boat this weekend.

AF came for me Saturday afternoon. I have my 1st IVF appointment tomorrow. I'm nervous but glad to get the cycle going.

Oh, no, bny! I am soooo sorry to hear that :-(  I've had two miscarriages myself, and it's just such a sad thing to go through... I hope your body gets back to normal quickly and that you don't have to have a D&C. Like hopeful said, please know that we're all here for you...if you need a shoulder to cry on, to vent or just to talk! Sending you lots and lots of cyber hugs!

hopeful: Sorry about AF. She's been way to busy visiting people lately...stupid, stupid, stupid AF! Best of luck at you appointment tomorrow, though!

I had my CD3 sonogram today, and everything looked good. My RE brought up the lap again, and said that if no BFP at the end of this cycle, he wanted me to have a lap. I might have to wait an extra month, though, because when I got home and started counting the days to see when the lap would be done, it's right around the time my sister and her family is coming to visit...and they're staying for two weeks. So I might have to just take a month off in July, then do the lap in August. We'll see...

Ladies, Do you mind if I join this thread? This will be my first cycle of Femara after 8 months of Clomid. I know many people don't have side effects as much with Femara, but then some do. So what were all your experiences with it? I had really bad hot flashes, nights sweats and CM was GONE while on Clomid.... Anyone get p/g on Femara?

Thanks Ladies :)

of course! welcome Dnikki!!! : )  glad to have you!    I'm a big fan of femara myself.. never tried clomid ( i have severe endo and lost an ovary with my lap 5 months ago, so the RE has been aggressive with us) femara can suppress endo, so its a great choice for endo patients too!   anyhow we did two months of it on 2.5mg once a day, then third month used 5mg once a day and added low dose injectables (follistim) for our 3rd and final IUI before we moved to IVF and we actually got our BFP!!! (i'm going to miscarry : (   but it did work! first time we've gotten preg!)  didn't have many side effects, great CM on it and O'd a lot earlier than normal!  GOOD LUCK let us know if you have any questions at all!: )

G_S: thanks! yea i've defintely cried a lot, but also just flat out feel numb, don't feel like this is all happening, in a since it hasn't hit me becuase i have no bleeding or any symptoms of a MC and i'm still having morning sickness really all day! and throwing up at least 4 or 5 times a day, I would never complain before, but now its just a depressing reminder that this preg is doomed , ugh

Heather:   GOOD LUCK this cycle, i'm rooting for you! praying that yall get your BFP and dont' have to worry about the lap!! sounds like a lot of us will be taking most of the summer off, which thats a good time to take off if any i guess! well good luck and keep me update! : )

hopeful: sorry to hear about AF, how did your first IVF apt go?? are you excited?? i hope that this is just what yall need to get that BFP!!!! let me knwo how your apt went!!!! i'm praying for yall! : )

well as for me, i'm just waiting i guess.... i have a question, can progesterone prevent the bleeding from a miscarriage?    i'm still just a little hesitant to stop it if i dont' have any mc signs ya know.. but i don't want to have a D&C, what would yall do? gosh so frustrating!  i don't want to delay the inevitable by continuing to take it, but its crazy to think that stopping it might be what actually causes it too ya know?
Blank

bny: Thanks for the welcome!! I am sorry you have to deal with endo. I myself have been dealing with it for awhile... I lost 1/2 my right ovary a few years ago. Sometimes the RE doesn't even see on there. I don't know how it's still functioning... but I am happy it is :) I'm pretty sure he is starting me out on 2.5 mg... then I also have to take progesterone after I O (which is not new) and also adding estradiol this month. I feel like a freakin pill popper!! Anyways,  I deal with PCOS too and take an extremely low dose of that....
I am sorry you are waiting to m/c... I had an early m/c in April and that was hard enough. Do they know what happened?  Is there any chance at all?  Good luck to you :)
You women are all so strong and I'm glad to have found this forum a couple of months back :)

I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers :)
Good Luck!

dnikki: Welcome! I was on Clomid and hated every minute of it. It made me feel horrible. Femara was amazing. I felt nothing at all. I did 3 IUI w/ no success so I'm on my way to IVF. These ladies are great so you have founf good support and friendship here.

heather: I hope you get a BFP before the lap too. Have you done an IUI yet?

G_S: I'm not taking any time off. If I don't do an IVF cycle now I'd have to wait until October and I don't think I could do that. We are going on vacation in August and the fertility hospital is closed for Aug and Sept. I don't remember why.

My 1st IVF appt went well and I am excited but still a little nervous.  The last thing I need to do is make an appointment to have the consent forms signed. We are actually already cycling. I'm on the birth control pills now. My medications have been ordered and we are on our way. I'll keep you posted.

hello girls! just checking in and seeing how everyone is doing!??  hope everyone had a great weekend!

hopeful: i'm excited for you and your IVF! : ) i am praying that ill be seeing a BFP post from you very very soon! : )   when do you start stims??

dnikki0928: wow, your situation sounds so similar to ours! pcos and endo with a partial ovary! ha.. yea i thought my left one would function, it looked like it was trying once, then even with injectables, nada! it gave up : (  i had a nightmare the other night that woke me from sleep that i had a cyst that torsed on my right and i lost that one too! gosh paranoid!   they aren't sure what happened with this preg (our first one). just stopped developing they said.. and gosh it took us sooo much to get here and sooo much bad news its just all devastating! but on the other hand i guess maybe it hasn't really hit me yet either

as for me, we had a relaxing weekend, i havne't taken any progesterone in 72 hours or so and nada, no signs of mc.. but i'm vomiting my brains out from MS!   i am getting more and more sick and bb's more and more sore.. not sure what the heck is giong on (maybe the preg is still developing but not correctly like a blighted ovum or something??) i just called the dr since i've thrown up 5 times this morning (only been up one hour!) to get a recheck ultrasound, 100% for piece of mind, i feel like i need to see it not developing on the ultrasound more than one time! esp since i am having stronger symptoms even with stopping the progesterone..then if nothing in two weeks we'll do a d&C i guess... the waiting is not too fun! so we'll see the dr's office is supposed to call back and let me know!
i hope all is well with everyone and hope that this is a lucky BFP month for everyone !: )

Let us know as soon as you find anything out :)

I started my femara yesterday - and I can say no SE!!! YIPEE!!!
This weekend was okay... we found out that DH's basically (very very close to the family) Grandpa passed away on Sat. He had cancer, so it's for the better.
Then this morning I found out a man I attended school with K-12, and we were pretty good friends all throughout, but then lost touch after high school - was killed in a car accident early yesterday morning. So, that's how this week is going :(
Other than all that, we are all doing pretty good here....
Hope everyone is doing well :)

Hopeful: awww sorry to hear about your SE"s from the birth control, but how exciting tthat stims start next week!!!! i'm sooo excited for you! I'm sending you very sticky, lucky baby dust that this all is a easy road with a very happy ending! : )

My RE's nurse called back today and they said that normally they wait 3 weeks if nothing has happened (which i totally understand) and i know it will be kind of painful to see the non viable pregnancy again on ultrasound, but this whole throwing up and having all my preg symptoms get stronger is just driving me insane to not know what the heck is for sure going on in there! i'lll ask them for meds for nausea too i guess when i go! but they said insurance may not pay for the ultrasound since there isn' t a problem! haha not a problem! i define a nonviable pregnancy a problem, but thats just me! but she said if there is no bleeding or cramping that insurance wont' pay for another ultrasound.. so we'll see what i can do about that, but all i know is for sanity purposes i would like to know and see, so i have an apt wednesday at 11am... my hopes are still nill, but at least i'll have a little more piece of mind that  some wine is for sure ok!

Well hope everyone is doing well , keep me updated! : )

Hi girls!!!! Sorry I've been out of commission for a few days :-) We've had the house full of "grown boys" since Thursday, as one of my DH's best friends is going to Iraq in a few weeks (kinda scary!). It was sort of like a going away weekend for him, including a huge party on Saturday, so I've just been soooo busy, I've barely had time to get online. But our last guest left today, so I'M BACK!!!

bny: I'm sure all this waiting and not knowing exactly what's going on is really taking a toll on you, and I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this. I have a crazy idea, though...why don't you just tell them you've been cramping or bleeding? That way, they can give you another u/s and it would still be covered, right? Having to wait three weeks seems a little extreme, especially based on everything you've been going through. That is very strange, though, that you're still having such strong symptoms...

hopeful: That's so exciting that you've already started your IVF cycle...even though you're having some issues with the birth control. Best of luck to you, and keep us posted!

dnikki: It's good to hear that you're not having any side effects on femara. I haven't really had much either...but I did have a headache on and off for a couple of days...not sure if that's related to femara or not. But all in all, I like femara a whole lot better than clomid! I'm sorry to hear about your DH's grandpa and your friend, though...that's so sad :-(

G_S: How are you doing? I hope your tooth stopped hurting! You're still trying this month, though, right? Even though you won't use any meds? Keep us posted and best of luck!

I'm CD 10 today and will have my CD12 scan on Wednesday. We'll probably be doing an IUI this month, since we've tried two femara cycles now with just timed intercourse. Hopefully this will be a god cycle for all of us!

Take care, everyone, and keep us posted!

Hope I'm not joining this party too late, but I took Femara this cycle and am now in the TWW (3 dpo).  I had no noticeable side effects with Femara, although this was my first time on fertility drugs.

I had u/s cd 10 and had 3 follies, my RE said they looked fine.  I then ovulated cd 14 or 15.  No trigger.

This cycle was timed intercourse, so I'm hoping that does the trick. Otherwise I'll be doing IUI next cycle.  I've had 3 m/c, so have conceived, but my RE says I need to conceive again soon else we have to resort to other measures.
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
bny: I actually had three or four IUI cycles more than a year ago, but they were non-medicated cycles and I didn't get pregnant. I did, however, conceive a few months after that when I stopped seeing the RE. Interesting, huh? Both times we've gotten pregnant was totally on our own...no med, no procedures, no nothing! It did take me about a year both times, though... BUT, I'm excited to try an IUI with femara, since that should increase our chances compared to a non-medicated IUI cycle. Plus, my new RE does one well-timed IUI, instead of two, and I think that might actually help, especially with the trigger, since we'll know approximately when I'll ovulate after taking the shot, instead of just going by the LH surge. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow! Keep us posted when you get back!

rene67: Welcome! It's nice to have more femara ladies join the thread! I've had miscarriages as well, but "only" two, so I guess we're kinda in the same boat. Three follicles are great, though!!! I'm on my third femara cycle, and have had two follies both my two prior cycles. Not sure about this one yet, but will find out at my CD12 sonogram tomorrow :-) Best of luck to you! I hope you get that BFP before you go on your trip!!!

Hi everyone, I wrote a while back and asked some questions about the process. I have been reading your posts and my thoughts and prayers are with each one of you.
When I wrote before my daughter was taking Femara and getting IUI with no ultrasounds.
She has had 3 IUI's with no success.  Next month she will still take the Femara and she is going to start taking Follistim injections as well as one Ovidrel injection.  From what we have read it sounds like day one of your cycle you scheduled an ultrasound for the next day and then start taking the Femara on day 3 then on day 8 you start the Follistim injections (we can't figure out how many days you take the injections)..  What we also can't figure out is how often and why you get scans or ultasounds (are they the same thing?) and exactly what the ultrasounds are for.  I don't know if it is the same for everyone but I wondered if anyone could explain a little more about how it all works. It seems like a lot and it is very confusing. Thanks

Hey everyone! Hope all are doing well :)
Well, I'm on day 4 of taking my Femara... I have to say i have been getting headaches on and off for the past few days - so Femara related? Then yesterday evening on my way to the airport to pick up my BIL I had a really weird dizzy spell... Kind of scary since I was driving, but it passed really quickly.

I just dropped in to see how everyone is doing. I won't be on until late this evening if at all. We have a funeral today, then get ready for one again tomorrow :)
Thanks for everything ladies!!
Hugs to all :)

Hi ibjanetb!

I hope you and your daughter are doing well...all things considered. I've never taken follistim before, so unfortunately I can't help you there, but I do have some info on the ultrasounds (or scans). Basically, she will probably have an ultrasound on CD (cycle day) 2 or 3 to make sure there are no cysts from the previous cycle and to make sure she has a number of anthral follicles on each side. She will then start femara (and also follistim at some point), and then probably come back in on CD12 or so for another ultrasound. This ultrasound is to check the progress of the growing follicle(s). If they are mature, or close to being mature, she will probably have the trigger shot (ovidrel) at the office or be instructed to take it at home that night. Ovidrel will start the ovulation process. If the follicles are not quite mature yet, she might have to come back in for another ultrasound a few days later and do the ovidrel injection then instead. As for the IUI, some doctors do two IUIs two days in a row...the day after the trigger and the following day, and others do just do one at 36 hours after trigger (since most women will ovulate about 36-40 hours after the shot).

Best of luck! I hope it works for her!!!

dnikki: I haven't heard of anyone getting dizzy spells on femara before...how scary! I hope that was just a random coincidence! As for the headaches, though, I've had that the last two cycles. Not constantly, but on and off for a couple of days only. So since you've experienced that too, that's probably femara related. I actually mentioned it to my RE last month when he asked how I was doing on femara, and he just kinda nodded when I mentioned the headaches, so I'm guessing that means it's fairly normal. Man, sounds like you guys have a couple of tough days ahead of you. Try to stay strong, and take care of each other!

I'm off for my CD12 scan later today. I'll update you guys when I get back :-)

Well, I had my CD12 scan earlier today, and I had THREE follicles!!! Although, one might be a bit too small to make it. They were 22, 18 and 15.5. And the lining was 9.3. So I just did the trigger at 10 p.m. and will have my IUI Friday at 10:45 a.m. My RE is also giving me a progesterone suppository this month to help maximize my chances, since I'll probably be moving to a lap next if this month doesn't work. Soooo, I hope it does!

How are the rest of you ladies doing?

318181_tn?1326214975
...oh, and for some reason, my insurance will actually cover the lap!!! I'm totally chocked, as they don't really cover anything fertility related...but my RE had checked with them and said it would be covered! Yay!

Hopefully I won't need it, though ;-)

Thanks so much that helps bring it all together.  It seems like a lot to understand.  Best of luck on your IUI.

My daughter lives in Jacksonville, NC and the closest RE in about an hour away.  I don't know why they don't explain things better.  They gave her a packet to read and a DVD to watch which explained how to give the injections but that was it.  The packet really did not explain much at all about the ultrasounds and why you have them.  I wrote earlier about this RE and her IUI's because she is taking Femara and has had her 3rd IUI and she has never had any ultrasounds through these procedures.  He said it wasn't necessary.  Maybe in the future she needs to try and find another RE.  Thanks

Yeah, it might not be a bad idea to change REs. It doesn't sound like the guy she's currently seeing is being too helpful. Hey, this might be an idea...maybe you could start a new post, asking if anyone else lives in the same area, and who they're seeing. I'm not sure how many of the ladies on here live in the Jacksonville, NC area, but it might be worth a shot!

Hi girls! I've been having some serious EWCM the last couple of day, and it kinda stinks that I can't take advantage of it ;-) We're "saving up" for the IUI tomorrow...so we haven't BD'd since Tuesday a.m.!. I really hope nothing happens before then!

Hope all the rest of you ladies are doing well! SSBD to everyone!

HEY! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?

I hope you're all doing well :-) and that we'll have some BFPs to celebrate soon!!!

I just had my IUI this morning, and everything went well. I currently have about 40 million swimmers hanging out in my uterus...LOL! Hopefully one (or maybe two) will make it to the final destination(s) ;-) I'll BD tomorrow and Sunday too...just in case...and then start progesterone suppositories on Monday. I've never done the suppositories before, but I'm hoping it won't be too messy.

Have a great weekend, everyone, and SSBD to all!!!

Heather: I hope this will be your cycle!! You are in my prayers.

I had my protocol appt today and I went over everything one last time. My meds haven't arrived yet but I will start injection on 7/7. My tentative HCG shot days are 7/19 and 7/20. I need help trying to figure out what to tell my boss. I won't know what day my retreival will be on until the HCG shot and I wanted to give her advance notice on the time I woul dbe out of work. I also found out that I might do a day 3 or day 5 transfer but I won't which one until day 3 at 10am. I haven't told her that we are ttc because she tends to be negative about everything. My DH had an idea of telling her that I was having minor surgery around the 3wk of July and would need to be out for a 3 to 5 days. At least then I might have a little time to rela after the transfer. Any ideas from you ladies would be greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind that this is a very hectic time for the business because we've just signed a new accont that we start working on 7/1 and my boss is VERY irrational and at times uncaring. I've been with the company for 6 yeas and currently hold the title of right hand, office manager, and jack of all trades. My RE offered to give me a note saying that I need to be on bed rest for a few days too. I can't wait to get pregnant so I can move on from my job. I hope to look for a new one after the baby or babies(twis would be SO FAB!!) are born.

bny: how are you holding up?

Have a great weekend ladies!!

318181_tn?1326214975
Ooooh, that's a tough one, hopeful! I guess you could go with the minor surgery reason...but wouldn't she ask what date? Maybe you could say that you originally had it scheduled at a later date, but your doctor is trying to move it up, and that you might be able to get it done in the 3rd week of July. That way, you have a reason for not knowing the exact date. If I think of something else, I'll let you know...

As for me, I'm actually a little bit discouraged today, since my temp was still somewhat low this a.m. I was expecting it to be much higher. Does anyone know if releasing more than one egg, over a 24-hour period, would keep the temps low longer?

hey girls! how are all of you doing??
Heather: thats so exciting about your IUI! : )   i'm praying and rooting for ya! : )  as far as the temps go, i've never temped consistently due to my erradic work schedule, but i have defintely read from a lot of people that the meds will mess up temps and make it look like O maybe did nt' happen but it actually did! Does your RE check with ultrasound afterwards?    I cant' wait to see your BFP post! hopefully in a couple of weeks or sooner! : )

hopeful:  thats so exciting that your starting the process! : )  and its getting so near!!!!   ooo as far as the boss thing goes.. gosh, we were having the same questions, and figured we would say surgery and needed to be out for two weeks (i was scared about the stress of work during that TWW after IVF) or say that i just had to be out and not give an explanation, since they aren' t techincally supposed to ask then  if you tell them you'll be out then you SHOULDN"T be questioned, however thats an ideal world and i know thats far from reality! my dh thought just telling my boss might work better.. i've ended up telling him some of the things just becuase it has made it easier to do some things!  GOOD LUCK!!!

as for me, well i got sick this morning and this afternoon, but only 4 times today which is a HUGE improvement, granted i'm taking zofran more now.. but i just got home from work and for the first time (after a long day and a bad backache) i actually am spotting.. its bittersweet.. i really want my body to mc on its own, not do a D&C, but its so sad to know that its REALLY happening too.. i'm sooooo ready to have closure and move on though! this ongoing process has been SOOOO draining, but still trying to be thankful that at least we did get preg... so anyhow.. not sure what to do about work myself.. i'd love to take a day off when i'm miscarrying.. as that will make my day harder.. (i'm on my feet all day) anyhow!
hope to see many many sticky BFP's this month girls!!! yall are all in my prayers! : )

Hey ladies!! How is everyone?
Heather - I am keeping my fx and toes crossed for you!!! I hope this is your month!! I tip on the supp. if you can take both at night (that's what my RE suggested) and make sure you wear an old pair on undies with a pad - they do get messy....!

bny - I've been wondering about you lately... you are such a strong woman, I don't know if I could have your attitude at this point... I wish nothing but tons of luck your way and hopefully you next BFP to full term will happen soon :)

Hopeful - I would go with the minor surgery and needing a few days off to recoup afterwards.... tell them what Heather said above about moving the surgery date... Sounds good to me :) Good luck this cycle!!

EVERYONE - Have any of you ever experienced water in your uterus.... maybe from Femara? This was my first cycle on it and I went for my u/s this morning and I have one big follie measuring 20x14. Lining is good at 9.4. So all looks good except for that dang water in there....!! I go back in tomorrow for another u/s... so maybe it will be gone...? One poster suggester an "O" and not ovulation ladies lol wink wink!! She said her RE's nurse told her that when it happened to her. No one else has ever heard of it though!!!
So, hopefully tomorrow we will be able to take the trigger and do IUI on Wed. and Thurs. We shall see!!!

Good luck ladies, all are in my thoughts and prayers :)
Hugs Everyone :)

Thank you, girls! I hope this will turn into a BFP too...but I'm still a little worried about my temps, since I had a very clear rise in both my previous femara/trigger cycles. As a matter of fact, I was supposed to start the progesterone yesterday, but decided to give it one more day...just in case. I'll start tonight, though, and I'll be sure to wear a pantyliner ;-) Thanks, for the tip, dnikki! I'm actually just taking one a day, at nighttime, so I won't have to worry about the "messiness" during the day.

bny: I left a message on your miscarriage post. I totally understand wanting to wait instead of having a D&C. It's hard knowing that you're still carrying a non-viable pregnancy, but at the same time, I've had both (a D&C and a natural miscarriage), and I actually think I prefer the natural way. A D&C is just an outpatient surgery, and it's a fairly simple procedure...but it's still surgery with full anesthesia...and I just kinda think it's better to let nature take its course sometimes. Unless it's taking too long, of course. I was waiting for a while before having my D&C, but since nothing was happening, I ended up scheduling the procedure about 2 weeks after the baby had stopped growing. Stay strong, bny, and please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you through this...

dnikki: I've never heard of water in the uterus before. Hopefully the big O took care of that ;-) I wonder where the water would be coming from, though... Best of luck with your ultrasound today! Let us know how it goes!

hopeful: How are you doing? Any decisions on how to deal with your boss yet?

Went to the RE's office again this morning. DH and I tried the suggestion on my other thread and it did not work.... Fun trying though lol!!
Anyways, the u/s showed it was still there, but it's not water. He said it may be a fibroid but doesn't understand why he's never seen it before. Whatever it is, it's about the size of a pea. He said he really didn't know what it is and that we just need to keep an eye on it.... He also said it was not caused be the Femara. So... who knows.

I go back in tomorrow morning for another u/s and bloodwork and possibly do the IUI if things look good :) Oh yeah, and another egg popped up, so now I have one big and one medium WOO HOO!!! Grow follies Grow.... I can't help that I'm a dork :)

Hi Ladies. My DH and I decided to tell my boss that he was having surgery and I would need to be out for a few days to tend to him. It's so hard to explain but my boss is very strange and clingy. I've been there fo 6 years and everytime I go on vacation she acts like the end of the world is coming. She's been through a lot and sometimes I think her meds keep her mind slightly removed from reality. Either way it was easier to keep her from prying by usng my DH as an excuse. She tends to back off when it comes to him. As soon as we have our first I plan to start looking for a new job. I've wanted to leave for a while but worried about not being able to take time off fom a new job.

dnikki: God luck tomorrow.

Heather: Where are you in your cycle.
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
dnikki: Wow, that's weird! I wonder what that is...could it be one of those random cysts that shows up once in a while and disappears again on its own? I've never had one (that I know of), but I've read about so many women on here who have. If it is, it shouldn't have any impact on this cycle ;-) Best of luck tomorrow! I hope you're medium follicle catches up, so you'll have two mature follicles by the time you do your IUI! Yay!!!

hopeful: That sounds like a good plan! Hopefully your DH's "surgery" brings a big ol' BFP with it ;-) LOL! I can't believe you're staring your stims in less than a week!!! I'm so excited for you! As for me, I'm not 100% sure where I am in my cycle. I'm 4dpiui, but according to fertilityfriend only 3dpo...but my temps have not been very high this time around, and my BBs are not sore either, so I'm not too sure about this cycle. I REALLY hope I ovulated! I'll be starting progesterone tonight, but in a way, I kinda wish I wasn't, because that will raise my progesterone and probably my temps too...artificially. And I'm sure my BBs will also start to get sore on the progesterone. So then I'll be left wondering if all the 2WW symptoms are real or just because of the supplement. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see...

bny: Hope you're doing OK. Please keep us posted...

Take care, everyone! Sending lots of SSBD to all of you!!!

I am back and ready to ride the fertility rollercoaster. I had a lap a week ago tomorrow (little endo and healthy ovaries and tubes! YEAH!)and now I am waiting for AF. Went for my follistim consult today and surprised that is all they are doing. No femara. I had a high estradiol level last month and they said it indicated premature ovarian faliure (with normal FSH). They want to do one cycle with just follistim and HCG, and then try lupron or birthcontrol to supress any cysts that may turn up. I am confused, but ready to try anything.Day 19 and counting...
Bny-I am so sorry to hear about your impending mc. I found out by ultrasound too when we lost our baby and was told I "needed" to have the D&C the next day. I wish I hadn't and would have let my body do it the natural way. Take care and I wish you all the hugs in the world.
Best of luck to everyone doing the tww. I'll join you soon hopefully!

hey girls! hope all is going well and everyone had a great 4th of july (well those of you that celebrated here in the US)  so my fear happened, i was at work tonight (busy night and no one to cover for me) and sure enough, suddenly HORRIBLE cramps... i tried staying and did for a couple of hours and actually passed my "products of conception" there at work, however the pain was just horrific, so i just had to leave, the absolute horrible pain lasted 7 hours or so (i took meds the dr had given which helped eventually) and now things have slowed, however next time around (hopefully that will never happen) if i had to have a miscarriage, i think i'd defintely chose a D&C.. this has been such a long drawn out process with a painful ending! however, must say i'm soooo excited that there is now an ending and we are getting closure!
carrie: we got preg with follistim! : )    glad your lap went well!
heather: when are you testing? hwo are you feeling? i'm rooting for ya!! i hope this is your BFP month! : )
hopeful: i'm glad that you told your boss and yall have a plan in place! GOOD LUCK!!!!
i'm praying for all of you that everyone will get their BFP"s very soon and have a baby in their arms in early 2009!
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
I'm so sorry it had to happen when you were at work, bny! I'm sure that made things even more difficult. But I'm glad you finally got some closure, and like you've said before, it is at least somewhat comforting to know that you CAN get pregnant. Hopefully your body will get back to normal again soon, so you can get another (sticky) BFP very soon!

I'm still up in the air about this cycle. My BBs are more sore now, but I'm sure that's because of the progesterone suppositories, and my temps are elevated, but not as high as in previous cycles. I'm actually a little bit worried that stress messed up my ovulation this month. The day after I took the trigger, and a day before my IUI, I lost my purse, which basically contains my whole life, and I was SOOOO stressed, trying to call the restaurant we went to the night before, searching through the entire house, to no avail... I finally called the person we went to dinner with and he found it in the back of his car. So a happy ending in one way, but I'm now worried that all the stress caused me to not ovulate this cycle. But, either way, I'm now 8 dpiui (7 dpo, according to FF), so, I might test at the end of next week sometime. Hopefully, I'll be happily surprised ;-)

Carrie: That's good that they got rid of some endo during your lap! So, are you taking this month off and staring follistim next cycle? I'll be having a lap in August, and some of the women on here say they were able to try again that same month, but my RE said to take that month off...but I might just try anyway, if I'm up for it after the lap, since I just hate to lose another month (I'm already taking this next cycle off, since my sister and her family will be visiting for 2 weeks...although, who am I kidding, I'll probably still use OPKs and try to get a BD session in when I get a positive :-) Probably no meds, though). Best of luck to you when you do start follistim! I hope it works for you the first time around!!!

dnikki: How did your ultrasound go? Did your medium follicle catch up? I hope so ;-)

hopeful: So you're starting your meds on Monday, right? How exciting! Best of luck with everything, and keep us posted on how everything goes!

:-)

We are just patiently waiting for AF (how ironic to be actually hoping she'll arrive!) and then we start the cycle. RE said it may not work because the cycle may be messed up due to the lap ( it was on day 13 in my cycle), but we'll see. WHen I do get AF, they will do the day 3 test before we begin anything. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we don't have to lose another month!
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
Yeah, I know, huh? It's not very often we're actually hoping AF will show up :-) LOL! That's interesting, though, that the lap can interfere with the following cycle as well. I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed that everything will look just perfect for you on day 3!

No news from this front. I'm 9 dpiui and today. My BBs are a little more tender now, but I'm sure that's due to the progesterone supplements. Nothing else going on really...

SSBD to everyone!!!

I am going for my first IUI tomorrow and had a few questions, I'm hoping some of you can give me insight.

I've had 2 laps for endo most recently in Jan 08 and have been trying since then.  This is my first month doing an IUI and we've been using Follistim since CD3.  The doc has been blood and US every other day, last check in Thurs. I had 4 large follies.

I'm going for insemination tomorrow... my RE said they do IUI's per cycle.  Anyone heard of this?

Good luck to all!!!

Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
Hi poshgirl! Looks like you might have been typing too fast...LOL...I do that all the time :-) Did you mean they do two IUIs per cycle? If so, then, yes, that's what my last RE did. I didn't do any meds when I was going to her, so no trigger, but I would do an IUI the day I got a positive OPK and then another one the following day. My current RE only does one...about 36 hours after I take a trigger. By the way, four mature follicles are great!!! Best of luck tomorrow!!!

Me again....Question, Is there a REAL differnce in taking Femara on cd3-7 vs cd5-9?? Last time I took it on cd5-9 (5.0mg a day) and this time will be cd3-7 (2.5mg ONCE a day).... COULD it make a difference??? Hmmmm...:)
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
Hi MamaTina! Hope you're doing well! I'm not 100% sure about the difference between 3-7 and 5-9. I have heard, though, that for clomid, the earlier schedule can help produce more follies, while the later schedule can help better mature the follicle(s). Not sure if that applies to femara as well...but either way, it seems like it's more common to do 3-7, so hopefully that will make a difference for you this month! Best of luck!

Hey girls! just checking in and seeing how everyone is doing!!! ANY BFP's yet?? when are yall testing??? I'm sending tons and tons of prayers, and baby dust to everyone! : )

as for me, the worst of my cramping was friday night (the 4th) then had some more since then, but mild.. but now it just kinda hurts down there in my lower pelvis,, when i move, walk and when i got sick this morning(MS gone, but my dog got sick and guess my stomach is still a lightweight!) but when i heaved i almost passed out from the pain, i'm scared that i have something retained.. uggh!!! so i'm going to call for an ultrasound hopefully tomorrow.. well today techincally..  i feel like my bleeding hasnt' been that heavy.. its mostly only when i go to the bathroom (which is a lot) but not much on any pads yet.. is this normal?? i'm just SOOOO ready for this all to be done done done! and i feel like its torture just one thing after another! i'm scared i'll need a D&C anyways and don't want to get an infection from an incomplete mc and have even more fertility issues!! ugh anyhow!
heather: when are you testing?? any symptoms?? OOOO i'm so excited for you!

mamatina: not sure what the difference is.. one month i took it on the later days and seemed to have the same response! : )

poshgirl: how did the IUI go?? i've haeard of a lot of people getting preggo with two IUI's and on follistim too!  GOOD LUCK! : )

carrie:: good luck with AF coming (its not often i say that!) i went straight to fertilty treatments afte rmy lap ( i want to say i had mine around the same time, 5 days before i normally O'd) i produced a follie on low dose femara that next month! : ) and have heard of lots of people getting pregoo soon after! i hope you can be added to that list!: )

bny: I'm glad you're going in for an ultrasound today...just to make sure things look like they should. I think the cramps or pain usually subside after the actual miscarriage, but when it comes to the bleeding, I was the exact same way...I bled longer than normal, but it wasn't very heavy at all, and most of it came when I was on the toilet. I would go for hours with just spotting, then go to pee and have a gush of blood come out (sorry, TMI). Another option for you is to have your HCG levels drawn. I didn't have an ultrasound after my natural miscarriage, but I would come back once a week for an HCG test, to make sure the numbers go back down below 5. If the numbers come back down, there's nothing left in there. I only had to go two times before my levels were back to normal. Hopefully you won't need a D&C. That would just really stink after waiting so long for a natural miscarriage... You'll be in my thoughts, bny! Good luck with your appointment, and keep us posted!

Just wanted to update. I am currently 5DPIUI and I had one gigundo follie.... it was like 26. I've never made anything that big before :) Let me tell ya, it hurt like h e l l when I O'd. It hurt to even eat let alone stand up etc.... Doing much better now! My Beta is scheduled for next Wednesday so we'll see!!

How are all you ladies doing?

Hi Ladies. Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I've been extremely emotional aguing with the pharmacy about my meds. I was told I would have them by today but then they couldn't find my prescriptions and called me on the wrong numbers and so on and so on. I was finally about to get everything cleared up and should have my meds tomorrow. Good thing since I start stims on Thursday. I went in for blood work on Monday and all is as it should be there. I'll be on 2 gonal-f and 1 menapur twice a day for the 1st few days and then I will get instructions after my blood work on Sat morning. Wish me luck ladies! I am praying that this will be out cycle. I've given my boss mock dates for the "surgery" and hope things go ok.

Heather: I hope you get a surprise on Friday too!

bny: I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope this will be all over for you soon with no D&C.

hi ladies, sorry to butt in on your group, but i have a question about femara and thought you might be able to help. This is my 2nd month on femara. I am just doing it days 5-9 and nothing else (no IUI or anything).  Well last month I had only 1 large follicle before ovulation. This month my doc didn't do an ultrasound and said just to time bding after I got a positive opk. I got the positive yesterday.  Well today i am having so much pain! I don't think I have ever had ovulation pain before (only felt like this when I did IVF last year). .. . do you think I have a lot more follicles this month, or is this normal on femara?? Any answer would be great. Good luck to you all!!!

Hi girls...well, another BFN for me at 14 dpiui :-( I guess I kinda knew this month...since my cycle seemed somewhat off, but it's still such a letdown. Oh well, looks like I'm heading towards the lap then. My sister and her family are coming out to visit next Thursday and will stay for two weeks, so I won't be having the lap until the following cycle (August sometime). Not sure if I should ask my RE for another round of femara or just take this next cycle off. I hate to lose a cycle, but at the same time, maybe I need a little break. I guess I'll think about it until I get my period.

I hope the rest of you are doing well! I'm still rooting for all of you! Sending lots and lots of baby dust your way!!!
Blank
318181_tn?1326214975
wishing4#2: I guess the pain could be either the fact that you (like dnikki) had a super-mature follicle this month...or there could be more than one, adding to the "pressure". Best of luck to you!

bny: How did your doctor's appointment go? If you didn't pass the sac until just recently, I'm sure that's the reason you've still been having cramps. It usually subsides as soon as all the tissue has passed. I'm so sorry you've been having to go through all this. I hope you'll be rewarded for your patience with another (sticky) BFP real soon!

dnikki: Wohooo! Congrats on your super follie!!! I hope this is your month! Keep us posted!

hopeful: Man, I'm sorry you've been having so many problems with the pharmacy...but it sounds like you finally got everything cleared up. I am soooo excited for you to start this IVF cycle! How are the meds treating you so far (I know you're only on day two...but I'm so curious)? I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that you'll produce a nice number of good-sized follicles!

:-)

Ok so here's an update. I got my meds on Wednesday as promised and was a bit overwhelmed by the large amount of medications.  But once I sorted them out I felt a lot better.  I'm on day 3 of my injections and I went to my RE's ofc today. I have 4 follies already! This is all very exciting! The injections have been fine too. I almost feel like I was worried for nothing. They don't even hurt and DH has been doing a great job! I have a high tolerance for pain so that might have something to do with it as well. For Thurs, Fri and this morning I took 2 Gonal-f and 1 Menapur. THe IVF nurse just called and said that my RE wants me to do 1 Gonal-f and 2 Menopur tonight and tomorrw morning. I go back in tomorrow too for blood work and ultrasound again. I have to be there at 7:30am so I'm a little tired but I think I will make it. I just have to take a nap when I get home. So far the worst part has been the headaches. I'm usually handle headache's pretty well but these have been border line migraine. My RE says that I can only take extra strength Tylenol. I was worried at first but it is helping a little but. I'm at least able to function at work. I haven't had to take any today and I hope my body is just getting used to the meds. I feel a little bloated and AF ended up coming in on Friday. BB's are sore but all in all, compared to what I thought it would be it's a easy. I just watched an episode of Oprah where Martha Stewarts daughter was talking about her experiences with IVF. It makes me feel so much more normal to know that I am not alone in the world. I knew already but I had no idea how many people are affected. I learn more and more everyday. Well, I'm off for todays nap. Hope all is well with everyone else!

hopeful: how exciting!! glad the meds aren't as scary as you thought they'd be and everything seems like its giong great!!! i can't wait to hear about your BFP very very soon!!!!! so excited! soon you'll have to worry about telling your boss about maternity leave! : )

wishing:   i had some serious sharp pains the last cycle we did about 20 minutes after IUI on my side i had my follies it almost took my breath away! it must have been ovulation, and then we got preg! : )  so i tihnk its just a sign those ovaries are working! : )  GOOD LUCK! : )

dnikki:   keep us updated! what day are you now???

hopefully we'll see lots of BFPs this month! we just have to !: )

as for me.. man i sware the ride just gets bumpier! I FINALLY started feeling "normal" and good on thursday morning, then thursday night started getting chills, and just felt like i got hit by the truck.. like the flu- my toe bones hurt, my skin hurt, EVERYTHING just HORRIBLE body aches.. i went home from work and my temp was up to 101.3. ugggh! i thought nooo do i have something retained and infected? my pelvic pain was just a soreness since passing the sac on monday, but no worse than that.. so i went in for a beta friday morning (its 289), wishing it were lower, then had all sorts of other tests, hoping it was strep throat or something, all negative.. then an ultrasound that showed i stilll have more to miscarry! :(   but my bleeding is only spotting for 5 days now , ugh! after the ultrasound that caused me to cramp and bleed a little more.. anyhow i sat down and talked to my dr--- to admit me or not admit me and start IV antibioitcs then after a few days once better do a D&C (meanwhile i have not only work scheduled, but 30 people coming to my house for a baby shower on saturday morning! ha, and i was SOOO behind on everything! - not to mention hosting a babyshower was the last possible thing i wanted to do!) anyhow we decided since my pelvic pain wasnt' too bad, we'd wait, if i got ANY worse i'd be admitted over the weekend... if i got better hopefully its not related (i never get sick, but if i'm gonna get sick i guess now when i'm super run down would be the time) anyhow.. so this morning my throat hurt and a little cough and no more pelvic pain , with lots of tylenol feeling better.. so HOPEFULLY its not related to the MC just a nasty virus/flu..(of course the vomiting has returned in full force too the past 24 hours! ahhhhhh!))) the baby shower is done.. even though i felt like i barely survived physically and emotionally! but at least its over with and seemed to go well!
SOOO all i want is for this to end already! i have another beta on monday if all goes well .. and will go from there.. phew! i'm tired!     Yall are all in my prayers that this battle ends with a happy ending very very soon for all of you!

Well, AF decided to show her ugly face here today :-( So now I have to decide what to do this month... What do you guys think? Should I do another femara round with just timed intercourse? Or just do it all "au natural"? My sister and her family will be coming on Thursday, so I'm not doing the lap until August. And I also don't think I will be doing an IUI with house guests here for two weeks. But I'll probably still try (thankfully, our bedroom is separated from the guestroom :-) ...just not sure if I should ask for another prescription for femara or not.

hopeful: That's such great news...four follicles already!!! Yay! Make sure you keep us posted on your progress!

bny: Man...you had to hold a baby shower with a possible D&C hanging over your head! You're a very strong person for getting through all that! It sounds kinda weird to say this, but I'm glad your throat is hurting! At least that makes it more likely that it was a cold or flu or something. Best of luck tomorrow...I'll be thinking of you!

Hey ladies :)

bny: I'm sorry you have to go through all of this, when it rains it pours huh...? Hopefully you just have some sort of viral bug and everything will return to normal soon.

hopeful: Good news on the follies!!! Good luck :)

I am 10DPIUI and my beta is scheduled for Wed. late morning. We shall see, hopefully I will finally get my BFP!!!! We just went today to see my DB and SIL's new twins. They are too cute but tiny too.... but they are good and healthy :)

Hugs and SSBD to all :)

Hey ladies. I went back to my RE's this morning. I'm going to be going there every morning for the rest of the week. My estrogen levels are rising and my RE is pleased with my progress. I have about 6 or 7 follies so far. I still feel pretty ok just a bit bloated.

Heather: I'm sorry about AF. Maybe you should take some time off before the lap and just have fun with you family.

dnikki: Good luck on Wednesday! I hope you finally get your BFP!

bny: what a tough few weeks you have been having. I hope it will be all over soon so you can get back to normal.

I took my 1st round of Femara last month and I had 2 really NICE follies too! On cd12 they were already 19mm! And they grow about 1-2mm a day! So, I am on my 2nd round of Femara this month....BTY, I am having trouble ovulating but, I still make GOOD eggs!  I too had god awful pains but, I also did a trigger shot to induce ovulation!  Good Luck!

Well, AF came and my estradiol and FSH tests were PERFECT! First time in almost a YEAR! The lap may or may not be responsible, but we are hoping this is our month. Started follistim and go back in on Thursday.
I also had HORRIBLE pains around ovulation when on Femara. It worked great for getting follies, I just couldn't get them to let go! When I did the HCG shot, I felt like someone was pushing a baseball though my ovary! Ughhh...at least we know it was working!! Best of luck to you all. I just have a feeling this month...we are gonna see some ++++++++++++++!

thank you everyone for your answers!! I am happy to hear about other's experience with femara! After the painful o, I still have some light pain, but not like it was. I also have super tender bbs and am sooo tired, I know I am only 6dpo today, but I seriously am lethargic. Don't know if I am coming down with something else or what, but I am crossing my finger for a bfp sometime next week!! Thanks for all your help and good luck to all, super sticky baby dust!!!!

Hi Ladies! So far so good. We transfered 2 embyo's. I wanted to transfer 3 but they wouldn't based on my age and the quality of the embryo's. I hope that's a good thing. I'm on bedrest now for about another 8 hours. After 36 hours of bedrest I can move around a bit more. I'm supposed to go back to work on Thursday but I might go back Wednesday afternoon.

bny: how are you feeling? did you have another beta yet?

heather: how was the time with the family going? did you guys decide to take a break?

Hi girls! Sorry I've been MIA for a while! My sister and family are still here, but I though I'd just check in and see how everyone's doing...

G_S: Did you get a BFP? It kinda sounds like it, based on the above comments! If so...CONGRATULATIONS!!! That would be the most awesome news ever!!!

hopeful: Holy moly...26 eggs!!! How many fertilized, and did you freeze any? That is soooo exciting that your embies looked so good they "only" let you transfer two!!! I'm sending lots and lots of sticky vibes your way :-)

bny: I'm so glad your levels finally came down. I bet you did ovulate already. I did...right after my levels were down below 5. Being on your period while camping with your in-laws might not be that fun...but hey, at least your body's back to normal and you can start trying again :-) Yay!!!

Tina: Good to hear from you! I hope this femara round proves to be a lucky one for both of us!!!

...and yes, I did do another round of femara...but just with timed intercourse. I only had one mature egg this month (and two smaller ones), and I think I ovulated on Friday, so I'm now about 3 dpo and back in the 2WW!

SSBD to everyone, and keep us posted!

Hey Girls....Thanks and yep I finally did get my BFP after 2.5 years of waiting and that too in a cycle when I was giving my body a break from fertility meds...even though I feel that femara did kick my systems in the alst couple of months and did the magic.
How are u all. This thread and femara is luck.
SSBD to all who are still waiting....I will pray for you
and congrats to all who got their BFP...
I will stay in touch...sorry had been away from the forum as I wanted a complete break from everything...guess the break did the magic.

I am soooo happy for you, G_S!!! You certainly deserve it! Hopefully, we'll have more famara ladies following in your footsteps soon!

I wish I had the same luck on my last month before the lap...but my gut feeling tells me I'll be scheduling the surgery in about a week or so. I don't even have sore BBs this month, and I always get sore BBs, so I'm not really too optimistic. Oh, well. Hopefully, they'll actually find something, and fix it, during the lap, so it will improve my chances in the months to come.

How are the rest of you girls doing? Hopeful, any news? We can't wait to see your BFP post!!!

Hello all!  Glad to know this community exists! Sounds like some great things are happening on here! Congrats to all with BFPs!

I just went through my first IUI on Saturday after the usual round of Letrozole day3-7.  I just started the 2WW!  Am crossing fingers, toes, eyes...  The Letrozole made me ovulate a few days earlier than my normal, unmedicated cylce, so we did the IUI on CD10, which I thought seemed so early, but apparently I was ready.  The Let. made me a bit moody, actually.

Did any of you take Letrozole? What were your experiences??
Blank

Congratulations G_S! I have good news too! It has finally happened after a year and a half. I got my BFP!! We did Letrizole for two cycles and it didn't work for us-got 3 follies the first month, then none. So, RE put me on follisitim with HCG shot and iui and have three BFP's so far. Go in today for my first beta. I am saying a prayer for super sticky babies and a happy healthy nine months for both of us!

Heather5-I had absolutely no symptoms...infact I dont have any symptoms even now...no sore boobs, no nausea, no nothing...just period like cramps sometime. So dont lose hope yet. But at the same time, be mentally prepared for a lap...I was **** scared but a lot of girls have gotten it done...it's always better to know what the problem is rather than keep guessing.

Carrie-Congrats!! Hope u get great beta numbers..do share them with us. Happy 9

It is really nice to read so many positive stories about ladies using femara and the injectables..today was my CD3 ultrasound  second month ..first month of femara no follies at all, nothing on clomid either the month before was suppose to start femara today along with 10 days of menopur but Ultrasound found a nice size cyst was tld I would have to wait for next cycle...my question to anyone that has an answere is even though I cannot take any fert. meds this cycle is there anything wrong with TTC anyway..even with cyst???
Blank
405855_tn?1217104367
Usually when they see a cycst they put you on birth control pills for a month to clear the cyst. But if they have not, I see no harm in trying naturally....the chancs are low when u have a cyst because of the hormonal imbalance causing affect to the ovulation, but hey who knows what plan God has. It also depends on the size of the cyst though.
