Finished Femara

Today was the last day for me on Femara which is cd7. They are going to do an ultra sound on day 11 instead of 12 beings day 12 is on a Saturday. What I was wondering was my Dr told me that I would not have mood swings or emotional break downs like I did with the clomid but with the clomid I did not have any mood swings or emotional break downs and I feel like with the Femara thats all I have had. I was wondering if anyone else that took Femara had this problems? Thanks

This is also my first cycle in Femara he put me on Provera to make me have a cycle and then I took femara day 3-7 He is doing an ultra sound on Day 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 I am actually having my first ultra sound on Friday which is day 11 because the place I have my ultrasounds done does not do them on Saturdays and Day 20 will actually be day 21 because of the weekend in there. But they are hoping that I do not have to have that many ultrasounds. Then I will get my trigger shot and then he wants hubby and I to BD the night I do my trigger shot and then for 2 to 3 days after. Yes it is a wonderful feeling that there are people out there that support you because they are going through almost the same thing.

This is my first cycle on Femara and I have to admit that I think I felt better than I did on Clomid.  Medications effect everyone differently though, so unfortunately, I'm sure it's perfectly normal to be having mood swings.  The constant roller coaster of emotions from month to month doesn't help either!  My doctor hasn't monitored me at all this cycle and her plan was basically to try it for one month and then to do an IUI the next time.  I hate to tell her, but that doesn't quite cut it for us.  I'd feel much more comfortable having an ultrasound next time to see if my follicles are adequate.  I had my lh surge on cd11 and then my temps increased cd 13, so I was actually worried that this was too early.  I guess all we can do is wait and see.  Best of luck to you!!  Keep us posted.  It makes me feel so much better to know that there are others out there who understand what I'm going through.

Yes once he sees follicles at 20mm he will give me the go ahead for my trigger shot. After the trigger shot he wants hubby and I told BD that night and 2 to 3 days following that time.

It hasn't worked for me yet but my doector says that he has about a 30% success rate with Femara. Are you taking a trigger shot also?

That is what my dr told me to about the Femara is that there is a better success rate. There are only 3 women in this area that my DR knows of that he put on it and I am the 3rd woman. Right at that moment the other two had not gottin pregnant but they had only just started to take it. Thank you for your kind words. I am kind of scared because of the mood swings I have had. My husband has been trying to do the best he can for me. I am going to talk to the Dr about the mood swings and hope he has an answer. Did you happen to get pregnant on the Femara?

I never tried Chlomid but have been on Femara for 6 months, my DH would say that I have had mood swings nonstop! I am guilty of being moody but I don't know if the Femara is to blame or not, however, I have improved in the last two weeks. I think it's because I have joined the forum here and have been able to write about my frustrations and have the opportunity to talk to other people who understand. Best wishes to you!
