First IVF, Folicle Question!!...

Hi all,
I'm on day 9 of my first IVF cycle. Had my ultrasound yesterday and there were only 2 folicles (both on same ovary). The other ovary had a tiny one that the nurse didn't consider viable. I might get triggered as early as tomorrow depending on their size in the morning. I'm so disappointed there are only 2!   I've heard some women develop up to 20!  I was pregnant a few months ago, naturally, but lost the baby at 8 weeks. Since I got pregnant on my own, I'm trying IVF with my own eggs even at my age of 43... before moving on to other options.  When my husband asked the nurse if each of the folicles has one egg, she said 'hopefully'. Anyone else here only have 1 or 2 folicles after taking all the meds? I think he's going to say for us to go ahead with the IVF, but I'll find out in the morning.

Are there ever more than one egg in one folicle????
Thanks!

There can be more than one egg in a follicle but my doctor said it wouldnt be any good if there was, so hoping you have 2 good quality eggs one in each of your follicles.
Good luck

I understand your concern because so many people talk about having many follicles.  Sometimes it depends upon your protocol, which should be tailored to your situation.  I haven't had my first IVF cycle yet, but my RE already told me that they are looking for quality, not quantity.

Good luck
