and not getting pregnant for 3months, Dh & I decided to see a fertility specialist. We had a initial consulation appt today. I prepared all the documents required yesterday. All my previous reports and went to appt. I was so happy to see the doctor. He talked to us for over 30 min got entire details of my history and had suggested a plan. First step in the plan is to get some basic tests done and with the results, he said we can proceed further if we didnt get any answer yet.
The tests are as follows
My self:
Day 3 Blood work( which they do on day 3 of a cycle)
HSG ( this is the xray that tells if there is any blockage
All these takes abt a month to get results. Because I am in CD8 now, to get to CD3 of next cycle itself takes significant time. In the mean time, we are planning to get the HSG, Chromosomal and semen analysis done so we will be ready with this results by the time CD3 blood work comes. I was told chromosomal analysis itself takes a month to get the report.
I wish this helps someone like me to get the initial info abt how this treatement starts.
I found this very helpful. I have been ttc for over a year and a half. I am currently starting my 3rd cycle of clomid. I have one more cycle to go and after that if we don't end up pregnant then we are looking to go see a fertility specialist. I have had a lot of tests already done by local doctors, but I think we would be better seeing a specialist.
