Thrilled my thermometer came so I can begin charting my temps this month. I have ovulation test strips so I'll know when to bd. Is it an increase in temp that I am looking for to signify that I ovulated? Also, if you become pregnant, how does that affect your temps...would they go up, down, stay the same?
no ur temps falls and then if it rises on 3 consecutive days, then it means u have ovulated. and u will have a cover line....and when ur preg, ur temps really dont fall below it. and it remains high.
try fertilityfriend.com or babymed.com, for charting.... in the first one, they calculate coverline too. and they have even VIP memberships...where they give u a more detailed explanations too.
Welcome to the BBT world!! Been charting a while now and I'm addicted. The other poster is right about the temp rising after O but not everybody's temp dips before O.
It's best to start during or right after AF. Your temps may be pretty low, then when you O you MIGHT have a one-day slight dip in temp and then you'll notice your numbers are higher than before. Mine dips about 1/10th of a degree on O day and then rises at least .4 degrees after that. I believe your temps stay in higher range longer when pregnant but you won't know really till it's near your AF due date and they stay high.
Once you see your temps going back to your pre-O stage then you can usually suspect AF is on her way.
