First month of BBT charting, OPK tests and questions......
My dr. put me on 100 mg Clomid Days 5-9 this cycle and this is my first month of charting. I got a positive OPK on day 17, felt crampiness days 18-21 with tons of EWCM. Now the pain and EWCM is gone but I've not had a temp spike yet. Here's my chart if anyone can take a look and see if it looks like I ovulated or not.
Anyway, does the temp spike of 0.3 degrees or more have to occur the very next morning or can it take a couple of days? Also, if you have multiple ovulation on different days, could you have a temp dip before the 2nd ovulation. I just can't understand the 3 days of feeling ovulation pains. Sorry so confusing. I'm just confused myself!
I really thought the 100 mg would work this month and now I'm starting to get a little depressed not seeing the temp spike.
From what I can see on your chart you have either not 'o'ed yet or your temp is slow to spike. The first temps that are very high you can totally disregard. What you look at is when they level off after af leaves. I think clomid causes you to have higher than normal temps too. This was my first clomid cycle and my temps were elevated on the meds. Even with that in mind there is still no huge temp shift. Maybe in a day or two more we can look at it and see a rise in bbt. I hope this helps in some way.
Actually on Day 17, the OPK was "almost" positive. It wasn't exactly as dark as the comparison line but it was much, much darker than the day before and on Day 18 it was much, much lighter. I didn't test after that b/c I ran out of tests and hated to buy another kit for this month. My dr. has advised to not even do the OPK and to chart only(as opposed to my previous dr. who advise to do OPK and not chart). Anyway, she said she could get a lot more info from charting and that OPK's aren't always right. So....hopefully I'll see a rise tomorrow morning. If not, I guess on to 150 mg.
I am on the 100mg days 5-9 (seems my cycles are 35 days).Last month I had cramping from days 16-19. On day 20 I woke up and it was gone and my temp was up to 98.5 from 97.2 the day prior. My Dr said somewhere from the low temp to the high temp is when I "o"ed. I think the temp spike should happen right after because that is the aftermath of ovulating and it should stay elevated until AF. Your initial temps are high for right after AF compared to what mine were, and there doesn't seem to be a shift yet that I can see. I think it would be more pronounced in the 98's Maybe you haven't "o'ed yet? On the OPK did you test days 17 and also the next couple to see how long it was positive for? Sorry if I am no help.
About the opk thing...... they have to be as dark or darker. Nearly as dark is still a definate negative. Soooooo, that being said keep on bding girl! You still have time. The most important sign in 'o' detecting is your cm and sometime folks get patches
here and there. Your body may gear up to 'o' and then for some stress or another may not be able to. So , it will try again. BBT only tells you that you have 'o'ed. Not that you are going to. You can use it after awhile to look at how your cycles are running. Smiles :0)
Thanks for the info. There still wasn't a temp rise this morning so hopefully, either I ovulated late or AF will come soon and we can move on to 150 mg. I just hate being in limbo. I'm on CD23 so surely by the end of the week, I'll know one way or another. But I'm guessing I didn't ovulate :( Again, thanks for all the info.
