I agree with MAR13-acupuncture is something to explore. I started acupuncture while attempting to get pregnant through IUI. Although the IUIs did not work for us, the acupuncture greatly reduced my regular menstrual cramps, which have always been horrendous. Those results convinced me that there was some issue that the acupuncture was helping clear.
We are now in the midst of our two week waiting period of our 1st IVF cycle. I chose my IVF doctor because his clinic strongly suggests the use of acupuncture in the weeks leading up to the IVF cycle and the day of the actual transfer-once before transfer and once after. I think it is a great benefit both emotionally and physically. Good luck to you!
How it is going? I was implanted on the 18th any side effects like sore boos?
I go for my BTon tues. Goodluck
Well yesterday i had to have minor surgery on uterus, md thought there was a polyp, turned out there wasn't. . . but he wants to give me a few extra days to let everything settle down. . .so my schedule is a little changed i will now start meds the 25th with tenative egg retreival the 14th. . . but we are still close in days!! :) keep me posted after you start your meds.
Hey how cool is that...me too on the 11th for my retrieval and the 15 for my transfer.....I start my Lupron on the 23rd.....good luck and yes...we MUST keep eachother posted!!!!!
Congrats on your pregnancy. I am not saying that everyone should do acupunture, and I don't know if I will get pregnant on this cycle, but for what I know the acupunuture made me feel much better (plus I have been ovulating on my own and my period was not as painful and pretty regular to as it was before) and because of it I got out of that deep depression I had after my failed cycle. For what I know - I have been stimulated for over a year and nothing worked, I had about 7 to 8 IUI's, clomid, injections and one failed IVF - so I guess that didn't work. So, I believe that acupunuture can help my case. As a matter of fact I am taking a break, if my second one turns to be unsuccesful I will turn into the alternative medicine. I got really good advices from the ladies here on this website and some of them acutally recommended acupunuture because it did work for them. Anyway have a happy and healthy pregnancy and congratulations one more time.
just my 2 cents but i just got pregnant with my 1st round of ivf. the 1st cycle got cancelled pretty quick because my body went crazy and ovulated on its on. i did acupunture and changed my diet all of a sudden and i believe because i did this, it through my body into a shock and was not able to cope with the meds and stress of ivf. well the 2nd cycle everything went smooth. i didnot do accupunture and i let my body be natural like i use to be so i could handle the ivf. im 16 weeks preggo now. thats my theory.dont go changing everything about your lifestyle because that just gets your body all wacked out even before you start all the ivf stuff.
I don't know a lot about the success rates, i have just been reading success stories online, and I know 3 people who have been successful on their first IVF. But i wanted to tell you i am also having my first IVF week of June 11th. My egg retreival is scheduled for June 11th, and then transfer for the 14th, unless we get to do five day transfer, then it would be later. So we will be on the same schedule. My first daughter was also naturally conceived, and I have had 3 failed clomid IUIs. . . I wish us all luck!!! Baby dust. We will have to keep each other posted. I start Lupron on monday. When do you start meds?
I am going to have my second IVF in June too. Unlike the first one I decided to get acupunuture to support the process. I am also doing a fertility yoga plus I changed my diet. My doctor told me to take DHEA supplemental vitamis and add fish to my diet. I am also taking Bayho Wellness Essentials for Pregnancy 30 Pkt Metagenics multivitamins. I would also recommend for you the book called The Infertility Cure: The Ancient Chinese Wellness Program for Getting Pregnant and Having Healthy Babies (Hardcover) - I love this book. Because of all of the above I feel more comfortable about the 2nd IVF cycle and definately not as stressed. So good luck to you and keep in touch.
