First time on clomid. Any advice?

Hi, ladies.  I'm starting clomid tomorrow for the first time & wanted to know if there's anything I should do, not do, or expect ???  Any advice is appreciated !  :)

hello,i was on clomid 50mg for 2 cycles and had no luck.i'll be starting another round once AF shows up.i'll be doing that with iui.are you doung iui or timed intercourse?well i had no prob with clomid but i've read many post in this forum talking about taking tussin to increase your chances.good luck with clomid.

Hi there.  I have done 4 cycles of clomid 50mg cd 5-9, the last two w/ IUI.  So far no bfp.  I took a break this month and did no meds no IUI.  I will start on clomid again next cycle w/ IUI and looking to do acupuncture with it.  What I experienced with clomid is: longer cycle and delayed O by about 2 days, usually O cd 14 w/ clomid cd 16 consistantly, usual cycle about 31 days w/ clomid 33 days.  On 3rd cycle of clomid I was a wreck! Extremely irritable and emotional.  4th cycle on clomid I ovulated 2 eggs. I know this because my 7 dpo progesterone level was in the mid 30's indicating the release of more than 1 egg.  Also 3rd cycle I experienced terrible hormonal headaches for about 10days.  This didnt happen with the first 2 cycles or the last one.  Last one mild headache a day or two.  Other than that I cant think of anything right now.  Good luck on your ttc journey and if you have any other questions feel free to let me know.

Beware of hot flashes!  That seems to be the consistent s/e with most people.  I did 150 mg. for 3 cycles, last one with IUI.  No BFP for me.  I went on to injections this past month.  No worries.  It is not bad at all!

Yeah the hot flashes are a killer! You will need to wear layers! LOL My Dr. also told me that weight gain is a common s/e.  I am on 150mg, and still waiting for my bfp. A good friend of mine got pregnant on her 7th cycle (she was up to 100). Good luck, and lots of Baby Dust!!!

Ladies, Thanks for all your info/advice !  It's truly very helpful :)  My doc did say I could get unusually hormonal, which I warned dh about.  He seems a little worried :)  I'm usually very low key, so I'm sure I'll be fine.  It's just good to know what I could expect.

ateh, no IUI yet for me.  Just timed bd.  I'm starting with 50 mg, as well.
