Hello,
In December, I started having hot flushes here and there, though I didn't think much of it. My period was 2 weeks late when it happened at the end of December. I kept getting the hot flushes so went to the doctors who did a load of different blood tests as they weren't sure what was wrong.
Bloods done on 4th Feb came back with FSH of 76 and LH
of 32. Doctor said it looked like I had gone through the menopause. I was gutted as we were about to start trying for another baby. Saw expert gynaecologist / fertility expert who said it was the menopause and though there was some chance of some ovarian
activity and therefore conception over next few months it was a slim chance. I asked him about DHEA and he wouldn't recommend it as insufficient evidence in his view but said it wouldn't do any harm.
I started taking 75mg of DHEA on 1st March.
Blood results from 4th March just came back- FSH of 15.6 and LH
I know a FSH of 15 is still high, but it's an awful lot better than 76! What I'm thinking is that I am in perimenopause so hopefully it means that there is still a chance (better than the gynaecologist though) of conception since the FSH has come down so much. I'm hoping the DHEA will help me (I'm getting spots on my face so it's obviously doing something lol).
I was hoping that people might be able to give me their thoughts on my situation- anyone had any similar experiences with high fsh / fluctuations this big / using DHEA?
