Ok so my husband and I are TTC and since having my daughter 8 years ago I have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have been going to a specialist who has started me on Metformin every day as well as Femera / Ovidrel combo since clomid did not work for me. My first month on this new combo I had 1 mature folicle before my trigger shot but did not get pregnate. Yesterday I went to the Dr for my ultrasound and I had 4 folicles that were really close in size the largest being over 13 and the 2 smaller ones at 11. They of course wanted me to wait on my trigger shot bc they want the folicles to be 20 but the RN scheduled my for another ultrasound this Saturday bc she said she doesn't want all 4 eggs to drop bc she doesn't want me having 4 babies. She is hoping the smaller 2 will sort of fizzle out but if they don't she said that we would need to get rid of the smaller 2. My question is would that be possible to make sure that only the 2 larger folicles ovulate? I am hoping that they don't mean that we will just bypass this month. Had anyone ever heard anything like this or had this happen?
Unfortunately, it probably does mean not trying this month...IF all four mature. Once they're growing, there's no way to stop some from maturing and not others. So the nurse was probaly just hoping that two will take off and leave the others behind...which could happen. Best of luck on Saturday!
I went to the dr today and 2 of the folicles have not progressed so it looks like I will have 2 eggs ovulate and I can take my trigger shot tomorrow night. Fingers
