Follicle measurments???

does anyone know when they measure your follicles what is a good average after your first appointment after starting stim meds?  I went today head 6 on one side and 5 on the other, measuring between 6 and 9.  It seems like good measurements to me but not many?  Any ideas?? Thanks

Is this for IVF? If so, I think it sounds pretty good to be your first sono. From what I've seen on this site, it's also not uncommon to see more eggs pop up as you continue to stim. Best of luck!

11 follicles is a good # for ivf (on my first u/s scan I had 8).  If you are doing IUI your RE may cancel since it's too many and you will be at high risk of high order multiples.

On my first after stims I had 6 on each side all or most under 10.  The final one yesterday I had 8 on one side most around 22x20 and 9 on the other much smaller 14-18x18.  So I think you are right on right now.  What was your thickness?  They said they like it over 5 but I thought 12 was a good number.  Yesterdays appt. was 12.6.  I think you are sounding right on track, and if the next appt you slow down or don't continue, then they up your stims.  Is this your first time and is it IVF?

Hi thanks for your help.  Its my second ivf cycle my first resulted in a m/c at ten weeks and i think this time i am more nervous.  They increased my doses from the first cycle and I thought it sounded better but was curious to see what you all thought.  I spoke with the rn today and they have decided to lower dose and said everything looks great.  I hope this time it works and sticks for good nine months.  Are you proceeding with your hcg?
