Follistim cartridge - extra medication in cartridge

I'm on follistim AQ cartridge 300 units and I take 75 units a day so there should have been approx 4 doses in the cartridge.  The nurse told me there might be a little extra, but there was actually approx another 125 units still in the cartridge.  

I'm concerned I might not have been getting the full doses or something.  Anybody else have a large amount left after their last dosage?

I know the cartridges are filled up and above the dosage, but I'm not sure how much.  My nurse told me the same thing.  I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I also have a large dosage left.. Just leave it for now in your frige..

I agree with Janice and Anya. I've heard they contain more than the label indicates too... I'm sure you've gotten the correct doses. Best of luck this month!

I had 75 units extra in my cartridge. I was originally on 75 units and after 5 days RE moved me up to 150. Last night's shot should have been 75 from the old cartridge and 75 from a new one but I ended up getting the whole amount in the old cartridge. I mentioned it to the nurse at my RE's office today and she didn't seem surprised.

I'm having a hard time deciding how much to order.  I read from another site that a Follistim Rep says the 300 iu cartridge actually has 447.  And the 600 cartridge actually has 747...

But we're not supposed to bank on it, so i went ahead and ordered two of them. Although i will probably only need one.  If they stay refrigerated, they are good for like a year...

This "extra" is why my dr. picked Follistim for me.  I hear when you order other brands of FSH (Bravelle, etc.) then you get the exact amount so it's really not as cost effective as Follistim.  But on paper the Bravelle looks cheaper...

Thanks for info.  It is reassuring.  

once it is opened it is good for 28 days. Unopened it is good for a lot longer, but I don't remember how long.  I think until the expiration date on the box.
