Hi all!

Just a quick note to say "howdy!"

I am off to our company picnic... being held at our zoo. Kinda cool actually, the zoo is closed except for company personal and their families. There will be all sorts of food: hot dogs, links, corndogs, ice cream (a bit cold for me!), carmel apples (my favorite!), roasted corn (another favorite!), grilled reindeer sausage (rudolph tastes good!), shaved ice (BRR!!), cotton candy, popcorn chicken, steak tacos, and of course beer, wine, soda and water!

I am off to pick up our godchildren (ages 4 & 8) and their mom to take. My dh couldn't get out of work today... bummer.... not enough guys on the street, so he has to work patrol today.

By the time I get on tonight most of you will already be in bed, or close!  So, an early good night and sweet dreams to all my sistas' in the house!

I'll be on sometime tomorrow. It's my Friday off, so I plan on sleeping in. :-))

We are CLOSE! I am CD12 AU NaTUrE-ALL! ;o) I usually Ov on day 15/16...at least according to Opk's. I'll test, but am going to rhythme it out. What about you? I get all mixed up with the CM too. I've read when you start to experience the wetness, this is the time to start bding...some say every other or every-two days. Fingers, toes, eyeballs & anything else that can be crossed...IS. (Ha)

Big howdy doo to all of you.   A beautiful sunny day in Chicago...good day to be alive.

Well, AF FINALLY arrived last night, which means I go in for bw/us on Monday morning, order my meds (assuming the results are ok) and start my cycle in 21 days.  Although I am glad to get the green light, I am not looking forward to the emotional ups and downs of IVF.  The shots aren't such a big deal...it's the waiting for the RN call, wondering if you are responding and what your follies are doing, etc. etc. etc.  Oh yeah, lets not forget the weight gain and hormone changes.  Always a treat.

I'm gonna need my AGP pals more than ever, so bear with me!!!

Well, we are finally having some sun which is a nice change, no more torrential downpours.  My MIL got some belly bands for me which means no more rubber bands to hold my pants closed and up, these things rock! I have a new love...*embarrassed to admit* KFC gravy, oh god so yummy. I can't wait to get my teeth on some of Sam's salmon.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, we have friends up and intend to have a gand ol' time with some kayaking and of course eating!

I have a question, why do some web sites say not to have sex everyday during the time frame of possible ovulation?  For some reason i want to do it every day so that i dont miss the egg(i no the sperm can live 3days) but my wacky mind is like if we do it every other day we will miss the little @~, can some shed a little light on me, since time is getting close im getting anxcious, nervous but i dont wana over kill either lol.

Another question, as off right now i dont think i have a problem with ovulating, but if i took clomid would that make me ovulate more than once since im also ovulating on my own.(wants twins:)

Latrice, they tell you to hold out and do it every other day because more sperm accumulate so that when you do have sex, you have more sperm that can get to the egg.  usually for IUI and IVF they tell you to wait for 2 days so that there are a lot of swimmers.

Thanks for the support.  My ob/gyn told me every other day during and around ovulation (~days 11-21).  My RE, however, said there is no reason to skip days and just go ahead and "make the love" everyday if you want.  :-) (I prefer his advice)

Not sure about your Clomid question--haven't ever tried Clomid.

I am excited for you, gf.  And strangely jealous.  I am so used to be on some sort of fertility drug I feel like an addict.   Just remember.. my last cycle, I only had 4 frikkin follicles on day 7 of stims.. and I ended up with 11 eggies.. so keep on plugging! Or should I say Keep on Truckin (just wanted to say that!)

Miky.. Good luck, my friend!! I am so excited for you.  Finger, toes, bb's, nose hairs crossed!

Latrice.. My RE and my Ob/Gyn said EVERY day for a week around ovulation. Also, my RE says it depends on your DH's SA.  Luckily my DH has had real good SA's.. with like 70-90 mil. post wash with >50% good ones.  But, mind you, I have been with DH for 11 years, so us BDing for a whole week would be like a guiness book of world record at this point.  We are old and lazy.

Savahna.. Where are your crazy posts, girl?  I'm glad we're close together in our cycles, but I think mine may be a bit wacky b/c of the m/c.

Sam.. How was your picnic?? It sounded like so much fun.  Since I work by myself at home I don't get one of those.  But Dh had what he calls "Friday the 13th" parties at one of his tattoo shops and theres fried chicken and beer at every one.  Everyone has to get a stupid tattoo that comes, and he doesn't charge anyone.  DH got a tattoo of a mythological Jackalope ( a rabbit with a rack of antlers) at his last party.. its soo stupid, but he likes it.

As I mentioned, I haven't gotten a "High or a Peak" on my fertility monitor yet, so I'm probably going to O really late this cycle.  I read somewhere that it's very common after a m/c.  But Dh has made sure that I am on his To DO list for the next couple months, so at least I know we won't miss O.
There's a nest of wild baby rabbits in my backyard, right behind my office window and Ive been watching the Mommy go in and feed them and checking on the burrow.  They are so da=mn cute I want to keep them (don't worry I wont).. I luuv them  :)

Krista-It's safe to say that I am not jealous of the fertility drugs, my last shot was done with a big ol' grin on my face and a song in my heart for crying out loud. We now however have a 2 liter bottle filled with two IVF cycles of needles and syringes. DH wants to fill it with epoxy and make a lamp....men.

Juana-Your house sounds like it will be so beautiful when you are done, good job on the hard work but as we all know...it will be worth it in the end!

Sam-Was the picnic as yummy as it sounded? Man, I think of Alaska now and become famished...^_^

Well ladies, only 9 more days of progesterone...27 more inserts to go (29 counting the 2 left from today)then I can finally stop dripping oily goo all day everyday. Gosh I can't wait, I may throw myself a "I am progesterone-free" party! I have been having such vivid dreams, now off course they make no sense but wow the realism of them. At least the nightmares seem to be gone for the time being or at least aren't making me weep with fear of sleeping. Well that is all my stuff for now, and I am off to have some mashed potatoes and gravy for breakfast..HAHA!

Also,I started yesterday the PIO...OMG..with the other cycles I always did 1cc but this time since its a medicated FET and my ovaries are shutdown by Lupron I'm doing 2cc..It feels like I'm pushing and pushing (I do it by myself DH too scared of needles..) and it never ends!!!!!!!

I'm heading to buy groceries for at least 4 days since I do not intend to get up from the sofa/bed!!

You go lady...REST, enjoy...eat only the BEST...lots of veggies & proteins...REALLY enjoy your relax time...don't lift a finger...besides giving yourself those injections. WE ARE SO EXCITED THAT YOU WILL GET A BFP. NO POAS. ;o) No...we can't tell you what to do...I hope you don't though...just wait IF you can. ;o) Alright "Cyber-Sista talking to" is over. I'm just so excited...couldn't help becoming motherish. BTW: Not sure if your doc would do this, but I spoke w/a young lady on the site & she said that on the day of her transfer, her doc gave her valium. I was really surprised (never heard of it), but she said it helped her relax & she went home & went straight to sleep. I don't know about you, but I have to say that I REALLY enjoyed those cocktails given right before you wake up after retrievals. (HA) Just in case somebody missed it...they give you those pre-shots...you know the one... it makes you feel all talkative...talking all dirty to the sexy looking doc, male nurse...the wall...whoever...next thing you know...you are waking up & the procedure is OVER. ;o)

KRISTA: Glad AF finally decided to show up...ole slow butt-behind heffa! She knows we were bouts to give her the SERIOUS SMACK down if she was one minute slower. Glad she knew we weren't playin'! She knows what time it is! Thought we might have to crack her straight in her EYEball for our gurl. (HA) We are right here for ya Gf...KNOW this! ;o)

TIJUANA: So happy you are enjoying your "renov" kitchen project. You are sooooooo NEXT woman...we ALL are on pins & needles for you! Hey, everyone,

Just got back from a weekend vacation.  DH's work suddenly got too busy for a real vacation, so we just took a weekend one.  Spent a lot of the time in the pool with the kids.  Played a round of miniature golf in 90+ weather (I came in 2nd after DH).  I guess it's for the best since I'm due to O in a couple of days.  It's not easy DTDing with 3 kids asleep in the same room.  It's also annoying to have to set my alarm for 7 a.m. every morning on vacation to check my BBT.  (Got to go update my chart too).  Oh, well, maybe next summer we'll have a REAL vacation with a new baby.

Sorry I have been MIA, just a really busy weekend!  Thursday night was our picnic, and I think I spent Friday recovering from a sugar overdose... blech..... it was a ton of fun with a 4yr. old and an 8yr. old - cotton candy, carmel apples, corn dogs, ice cream, snow cones, jumbo pickles, reindeer sausage..... my belly hurt that night and most of Friday... I didn't even want to look at anything with sugar in it.... But the zoo was cool. We let the kids lead the pack - where they went we followed. They felt so proud, got to lead Ant (yes ANT - long story) .... Ant Samantha and mom (my bff Marianne) around the zoo. The 8yr old had the map of all the stuff - where the food vendors were, where the face and hair painting was... stuff like that. So the two kids took turns as to what we were eating/seeing next. Got lots of goodies.... everyone got a back pack, adults got baseball hats, kids got binoculars and a bunch of trinkets.

I will post more later... it's gonna be a busy day at work - I have to reconcile a bunch of jet fuel invoices.... uuuuugggghhhh!!!  
And, it will give me a chance to catch up on everyone!

Our zoo has no 'warm' weather animals. We had two elephants once upon a time. But when the first one passed, Anchorage residents started a "Maggie" fund to get her someplace warm with other elephants. Alaskans had gone so far to build her an indoor area with a treadmill.... can you imagine.... a treadmill big enough for an elephant. But, when she was not getting better, and becoming lethargic and very cranky - zoo keepers knew it was time to move her. With the donation of a plane from Elmendorf AFB, she is now living happily somewhere in southern CA.
Our zoo isn't real big. We have animals like: eagles, ravens. porcupines, musk ox, alpaca, tigers, foxes, wolves, moose, caribou, buffalo, polar bears, grizzly bears, black bears, ...... we managed to see all the animals and eat in less than 2.5 hours....

Miky, GOOD LUCK baby!!!  We are soooo rooting for you and your frosties!!!  

Had an appt at the clinic today for bw/us.  My FSH is high (as usual) at 13.2, and estrogen is normal at 23.3.  Next step is more BW/US next Wednesday to check for ovulation, then start meds 10 days post-ovulation.  My protocol is after someone named "Schoyer" (any idea who that is?).  Basically, it incorporates estrogen patches, microdoses of Lupron, and then Gonal F (or Follistim) and HCG.  Can anyone shed any light on this type of protocol?   g

Ok, I know I have a BAD ATTITUDE right now, but my stupid arm is already bruised from the blood draw, and I am getting bloated and irritable just thinking about the shots.  And, to top it off, I saw a note on my med chart that said "poor prognosis".  Great.  Not that I didn't already know that, but it still stinks to read it.

Miky, bring home a big ol' BFP for your AGP homies!!!

Surprised today to find my OPK was positive.  It has NEVER been positive this early.  I know that as long as the lines are equal the test is positive, but do you think = is "less positive" than having the result line darker?  Lately my OPKs have been =, but today it was clearly darker.  Think that's a good sign?

Ladies, again sorry for my absence last night. My girlfriend has got some drama going on in her life....
She has been married for 11 years. She has 2 kids, he has 2 kids, together they have 1 kid... you know... the whole his, hers, ours, type of family.
Her boys visit their father in the summer - somewhere in VA. This summer dad planned a trip to Jamaica for his family and the boys. My friend found out yesterday that their father took the eldest, who is 17, and his stepson, who is 19, to a 'swingers' club somewhere in Jamaica. According to the 17 year old, everyone was getting naked, doing body shots, playing volleyball in the sand naked (can you say ouch!), and other "things" in the hot tubs and pools.
Needless to say, my girlfriend is a little miffed!
So, we have been trying to calm her nerves and the need to strangle someone. What do you do? The eldest turns 18 in November.... and he is responsible, but the other boy who is 15 is a horndog. She is worried that her ex will pull this stunt again, or worse, not be a 'parent' while he is visiting. The youngest is already talking about wanting to live with his dad because he has no supervision, and would be able to 'party' anytime with no consequences from his father......
she keeps asking me.... are you sure you want kids? I will let you have mine......
I keep telling her that dh and I want to be able to screw them up ourselves :-))

Well, that's the drama up here..... time to work..... hopefully I can catch up with you all later....

Thanks.  The picture is 2 years old now, but it was handy when I went looking for something to put in here.  I AM blessed to have 3 healthy kids, but I still miss my two that are in heaven.  It took 18 mos. of TTC to get the 1st, but that first pg. seemed to get my system into gear making the 2nd pg quicker to get.  The 3rd pg was a surprise and ended in m/c (blighted ovum we think).  I was content with the first two until the m/c and then I knew I had to have another, so along comes Anna (4 last month).  A couple of days after my mom died we decided we needed 1 more to complete our family.  Eight months of TTC ended in m/c at 8 1/2 wks, so now we're back in the TTC game.  I'm not getting any younger, so time is not on my side.  I have a really good feeling about this month for some reason.

Woo hoo... one step closer to fresh IVF cycle.... I got to order my meds today :-))  

AF had better be here tomorrow.... or I am gonna sick Sal on her :-)  

So, if AF does show before the 2nd, retrieval will be before the 29th. IF she is playing hard to get - which she does when people want her - and she shows up sometime after the 3rd, then retrieval will be after Sept. 12th.  I can't miss work Sept. 2-12 as too many peeps are on vacation. I will just have to be on b/c longer is all....

Krista - I think you should open a can of woop @$$ on someone in your dr.'s office. I would go off on someone if I saw that in my file - what do they mean - poor prognosis..... I'll give you something poor all right.... my generic heels up someones rear end!!!

Morning all!  So the two friends we have visiting made us a gift that was unbelievable, they designed and built a boardgame and named it Friend-Opoly. The properties are all photos and memories of things we used to do together, like kayaking, playing certain games, foods the 4 of us love. The money has pics of us, them and shared friends on it. They made everything from scratch, the board, the money, the deeds, the gorgeous hand built/stained wooden box, everything! I can't do it justice by describing it. I will post pics of it later. It actually made DH tear up!

Well we are heading out to breakfast as it is time to FEED ME! lol

I thanked her for sharing that, because I never allowed what the RE's said about the "grade" to get into my head...thought I'd concentrate too hard on it. ;o) She has a beautiful & healthy babygirl. We are rooting for ya...try to stay strong & like Kele said...down on that couch mom-ma. ;o) Lots of reading & resting. Looking forward to your BFP. ;o)

TIJUANA: Hope that Pole Dancing thing doesn't take place for a LONG time, because you are going to get BFP & put that thing on the calendar for another time. ;o) I know your dh will be EVEN happier with that news. ;o) So excited for ya...make sure when you go in that you leave that nervousness @ the clinic. Savanha.. My monitor is (I think.. the label isn't on it anymore) is Clear Ble Easy Fertility Monitor and you put little pee sticks in it and tells you if you are Low (not fertile), High (gettin there) or Peak (two days right beofre you O).  And it's always been dead on right so far.  It costs like $150 w/pee sticks about $50.  But I only use pee sticks from
CD 8-15 and the sticks come in packs of 30 so one pack usually lasts me a few months. Now this month, I haven't seen s=hit on it and I'm CD16.. I have NEVER O'd after CD16 on my own.  Au naturelle means I O on CD 12-14. So.. just waiting and waiting and waiting.
But the monitor rocks.. I highly recommend it.  Good luck this month on your TWW!

Thanks gf. I have heard about it before, so if things don't flow the way I'm hoping, I may invest in that extra step. ;o) So far, all I can do is wait. It'd be great to know exact. I guess the only way to know if opk's are correct is to purchase the CBE to confirm. I'll see what happens after all the other stuff I have lined up. Hope you get something soon, this way at least you know this month is a working month. All the times I used the opk's, I've gotten results & pretty much the same...I used different brands to test it. Alright lady...catch up wit ya on the next go round. I'm off for the night...have that bummed out feeling. ;o)
