Grade of embryo

I had egg retrieval yesterday they said they got 9 eggs, They called me today said I have 4 this is day 1. I was also told they dont wont to risk taking them to blastocyst stage so they are doing the transfer on Sat. They said they would call tomorrow with a grade. Dont this lower my chances if it is not a blastocyst? Me and my husband feel they are gonna call us tomorrow with bad news about embroys I know all of you use different terms for all these words I am sorry. I am trying to be positive but its hard. How low are the chances with a low grade embryo?

I know how you feel.  I had 9 eggs retreived and the next day only 3 eggs survived.  They too transfered on day 3 (only two eggs).  They said all the eggs were progressing so well that transfering the third would only increase my chance of having triplets.  They just called me today (day 7) and told me my third embryo did not make it to day 6.  The waiting and wondering is the worst part and knowing that if they would of waited till yesturday (day 6) to transfer makes me think I could have had a little less waiting time.  As of now, I have no idea if the two embies tranfered are still striving.  I have heard conflicting stories about transfering so early.  Some say they have a better chance in the natural environment (you) and some say that it is costly to facilities to hold on to embryos those extra days (making sure they are kept right and handled right).  They say your ins. does not pay for the difference of day 3 and day 5 or 6.  I wish you good luck!

I have heard the same conflicting stories about Day 3 transfer. Maybe there is some ladies out there that haved had a 3 day transfer with luck? I guess me and you are not far apart in our cyles. If you need someone to talk to or even to vent to. let me know.I pray so much this works for us.

My retrieval was not bad I had a little cramping afterwards,but if you go home and go to sleep its better .I put a heating pad on my tummy that helped for the cramping. I had nine follicles on ultasound and they retreived 9 you know the rest from my post. I really wish you luck. this is an emotional rollercoaster.Let me know how yours goes I think all of us can use support right now.

Hello.....  Just to keep you on the positive side, I had a 3 day transfer on my first IVF and got a BFP (although, I ended up with an ectopic) and on IVF #2 it was a 5 day transfer(with 1 blast and 2 morulas) and I got a BFN,  sooooooo I have come to the conclusion that it is better for me to have a 3 day transfer....so, think positive and it will happen...good luck to you!!!!

Thankyou projectbaby. That helped lift my spirits. I cried all afternoon till I was sick my husband was getting upset I kept telling him this was not going to work and we were going to haft to come up with all this money again cause insurance dont pay at all nothing. I have also thought of you IIENDA  I wanted you to know I looked up success stories and saw several people who even got pregnant on a three day transfer with 1 embie (not that you have one you have double that ). So you have a good chance. I wonder if drinking alot of orange juice and eating alot of greens helps cause it contains the folic acid.  Well good luck to you. stay in touch if you can I will be thinking of you.
