HCG Levels and Multiple Fetuses

Would you all please give me your opinions about by HCG levels?  I had a hunch I was pregnant, and even then I tought it might be multiples.  This is totally irrational I know.  A couple of days before my period was due, I was sure and the home test was positive.  I was in a lot of pain though (similar to my monthly endometriosis pains) so I went in to urgent care over the holiday concerned that I may have an ectopic pregnancy.  They did both types of ultrasounds which ruled out that, and they could clearly see an egg sack (small black dot) where it should be on the ultrasound.  That day (Jan 3, 34 days since LMP) my HCG was 970.  I had another HCG today (Jan 7, 38 days since LMP)and it was 6775.  If it were doubling every two days then it sould only be at 3880.  I am 30yrs old and this is my first pregnancy.  Either way my husband and I are thrilled, just wondering what the opinions out there are.

Wow! Very good numbers!!! I don't know about multiples, although I do have 2 sacs in.. .my doc think only one is vialble... but I get soooo hungry... not too much nausea, but extreme hunger... Congratulations!

WOW!!! Great for you. Everyone's hcg levels are differant but yours could very well be twins...how cool is that?

Hey there...I am in the same boat as you...or i'm hoping to be!  twins run in my family on both sides - and now my hcg numbers seem to be pretty high...

13dpo = 162 (27 days after lmp)
15dpo = 490.80 (29 days after lmp)
19dpo = 3,517 (33 days after lmp)

My boyfriend asked the doctor about the possibility of multiples based on hcg numbers and he kind of chuckled...but said that they really would rather wait to confirm it on an ultrasound.  You should check out www.betabase.info.  It gives you a place to see what other women's hcg level were when they were carrying singles and multiples!  

I'll be happy with whatever I get...as long as it's healthy!!!  Good luck to you!
