HELP! doctor lowering follistim becuase blood work is high!

Hi all,

I have PCOS and this will be IUI #2. I am CD12 and I had my sono and blood work again today. I started out on 225 iu of follistim and on Sunday my bloodwork came back high so my RE lowered my dose to 150. I went back today and I have 4 size 11 follies and 1 size 12. My blood work is high (729) and my RE is lowering me again down to 75 iu and I go back on Thursday. They said it was thigh for the size of the follies and they are lowering it so they do not have to cancel my cycle. I am nervous that this will be too low and they will either stop developing or only i will only get one or two. Has this ever happened to any of you and how did it work out?

I went back today and I have 3 follicles at 15 and "a bunch" at 13. the sono tech doesn't know if the doctor will continue the cycle. they will call me when the blood work comes in.

Thanks for commenting! I am almost positive that your cycle will not cancel if they are slow to gow, you will stay on meds and be monitored until they are the right size. I am not sure what they were measuring but I will ask.

Good luck and keep me posted!

What bw was tested?? Was it your E2 level? I don't have an answer for you but i'm actually the opposite of you right now. My E2 was 60 on cd4 and then dropped to 51 on cd6, RE increased my follistim to 75 iu for last night and tonight.. i go back for bw/us tomorrow. I had alot of follies under 10mm on cd4 so i'm hoping they have grown some more. I think my dose is low and was hoping i'd start off in the 100's but we'll see what the results are tomorrow.

I had to pick up a secondary ins directly with bcbs so I would hate to see this cycle get cancelled if my follies dont mature in time.. although i'm doing timed intercourse so is it even possible for RE to cancel if my follies are slow at growing or will they keep increasing my follistim until the follies get bigger??
