Hi All... I"m new to this forum but I have to say all your stories have enlightened me. I just turned 43 last week and had my first ivf cycle Oct 10 08. I have 2 children from first marriage, both healthy deliveries
transfer and have tried not to do HPT but I could not help myself. I did one 3 days in a row and all 3 show a positive. I know there is a chance of a false positive because of the HCG injection, but is it possible to get 3 positives and not be pregnant???? What are the chances of that happening? I"m just wondering if I can think positive or not now.
I do have some minor symptoms, like nipples being tender, the raise in body temp and some cramping.
Yes, it typically takes 10 days for the hcg trigger to get out of your system (if you used a 10,000iu hcg trigger.. if not the general rule is one day for every 1,000iu's of hcg used in your trigger shot)..unfortuntely that can make your hpt's test positive.. you can continue testing each day and see what happens - generally they will start to get fainter, and then sometimes turn to negative, and then if your pregnant start getting darker or turn positive again. I hope that you are preg and that you'll continue getting a nice BFP! good luck!
10 days is the average that a trigger can take to get out of your system; it can take longer. I think there are ladies on this forum who have taken up to 13 days (?) for trigger to stop showing on hpt. I know it's difficult, but it's really best to just wait until your scheduled beta. Also, since you have hcg in your system from the trigger shot, that will cause you to have the same symptoms you have when you have hcg in your system from being pregnant.
But yes, absolutely think positive, it can only help! Wishing you all the best-when is your beta?
