HSG painful

I am gonna do HSG today .is it Painful.

very uncomfortable. but not killer pain. just a lot of pressure and wondering what is going on down there/in there. good luck.

mine was but i was so tense that might have been why the dr had to reinsert the speculum three times....ughh so my best advice...relax its over quickly

My first one was and the second was not, took 800 mg of ibuprofen one hour before the second time and really felt nothing, good luck!

Painful but not unbearable... You will do just fine. It is a quick procedure and as soon as you notice discomfort it is almost over.

Is it an injection, or a procedure, or what exactly? My doctor mentioned this to me last time I was in the office.

it was not that bad...lasts 10 minutes...but then again the doctor told me i had a spasm and the dye only stayed in my uterus.. i didn't feel anything except the speculum was quite cold..good luck

It feels like bad menstrual cramps.. but it's over soon. Try to pay attention to the screen so that you can try to move your concentration away from the discomfort.

I went back to work the same afternoon. Make sure to take a pad as you might leak the brown dye they inject for the rest of the day!!!
