Has anybody had to take progesterone in the beginning of their pregnancy?

Soooooo I got my BFP!!!  I'm so excited but nervous!  My HCG is 76 but my progesterone is low 8.26.  They are giving me suppositories to take Endometium.  Has anybody taken this...did anybody have a viable pregancy having to take progesterone?  I think I'm 4 weeks like 2 or 3 days??  I o'ed on either the 25th or 26th of Jan....so I'm 16 or 17 DPO..and 14 days to that and I guess I'm 4 weeks 2 or 3 days...is that right?

This friday with my beta my Re also is gonna do a sono. I had the appointment tomorrow but i wanted it on friday so maybe it's gonna be something more visible. But my Re doesn't do pregnancy so he is gonna release me very soon, and the GYN only sees patients once a month and i don't even like her.

Oh your Betas sound good!  I'm upset that they didn't wait 72 hours instead of 48 for my next Beta.  I'm worried that ir won't double and then I will be worried.  Good luck to you on Friday.  I really don't wait another m/c either.  When are they giving you an u/s?  They told me a week from my first appointment so I think mine will be next MOnday.

My first beta was on feb.4 and was 66. On wednesday the 6 was 138. I have another appontment this friday. Hope everything will be ok and the numbers more than doubled. I really need this pregnancy to go well. It's so frustrating to have another m/c.

ashort - That's wonderful news!  I'm pretty sure I'd be scared too.  But hopefully the wee little bean will stick and those suppositories will do their job.  Congratulations lady, I truly hope this works out for you.  And in 8 weeks, you and your dh can pull out those star wars names.

Congrats, that's great and wonderfull. Have had two m/c myself i know what you mean by being scared. I'm pregnant 4 weeks 5 days and also scared.I had my HCG shot on Jan.21 and we should be almost the same time. My Re also give me Prometrium. I have a great progesterone level 35 but he give me prometrium anyway. He says that it helps with the pregnancy. I'm gonna take it  until 12 weeks. Good luck

Ashort - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! I am so happy for you. I know it's been a long road. Re: progesterone, my RE has said I have to take it thro' my first trimester as well. My progesterone measured quite high but he says more is better than less. I was on Crinone gel and have now been switched to Prometrium because Crinone was causing a weird skin reaction. Have a wonderful 9 months ahead!

I hear you. I've a few m/c too and it's so hard to nt be nervous and gaurded.
I envy the people that announce to the world they are preg. the minute they find out and don't have an ounce of fear and worry.
I remember my OB finally saying to me when I was preg wth my daughter at like 14 weeks, you can relax now, you are having a baby, that I felt like the weight  the world was lifted off me.
Good luck and congrats, again!

Hi there,
I have had to take progesterone during my whole first trimester so far.  I am now 10 weeks, and once I reach 12 the placenta makes enough progesterone on its own.  I take two suppositories a day and yes it can be messy but make sure you change your panty liner often or you can get irritated by the progesterone that leaks out.  It is sooo worth it though... it makes our beans stick and thats all that matters ;)

Hi Ashort,

Wooo WHOOO!!! Great news keep thinking happy thoughts. I was on progesterone  with my first IVf, and have a DD now 4. Second cylce I had a chemical, and was on suppositories, invest in a big bag of panty liners. Just remember that with the suppositories, your blood levels may not go up, but the endometrial lining is high in progesterone.  Which is where it counts. Good luck and am thinking of you

Thank you.  I had a m/c in June so I'm a litte paranoid about having another.  I guess I just have to relax until Wednesday.  They are delivering the progesterone tonight so I think I will use it before bed.  I'm so happy but so guarded....

CONGRATS!!!!!!
I have heard lots of other people say they are doing that. It helps prevent m/c is my understanding. They perscribed it for me along with Clomid, kind of a just in case, can't hurt.
Be happy!
