I'm seeing my RE tomorrow and don't think my OHSS is that bad at all but it could be after the ET tomorrow... the thing that is stressing me the most is the idea of being drained... is it as awful as it sounds or is the relief so good that the pain doesn't matter?
Hello! GOOD Luck tomorrow! : ) , i don't know anyone who has had to be drained.. i think it has to be really bad to get tapped (drained). .. severe shortness of breath
etc.. drink lots of gatorade like drinks instead of straight water! i've had mild OHSS and i usually urinate every hour or so ( i drink a lot of water) and i only urinated twice in 24 hours! felt SOOOO huge and bloated and a little short of breath
Hello, i agree with bny807 make sure you drink heaps of those drinks. I had OHSS and was in hospital for 4 days but managed not to have it drained thankfully. Also make sure you have plenty of bed rest an eat lots of small protien rich meals. i found normal sized meals made me feel sick. Good Luck tomorrow!
Thanks to both of you! I was just at the RE's office for a check-up and they actually got me all prepped for draining but I was so freaked and uncomfortable from the ultrasound wand that they stopped. Fluid wasn't going to be so easy to collect so they decided I could wait and see if things change when I come back of Tuesday. Between now and Tuesday, I'm all sodium and protein, all the time!
How are you feeling? I'm definitely not going through that again! My ovaries were over 12cm so we didn't do a transfer, thank goodness! I ended up gaining 19lbs in 10 days but it's coming off now. Did you transfer an embryo
. Its very normal to be uncomfortable with bloating for 2-6wks after Egg retrival and it gets even worse if you end up preggers. The best thing to do is drink gatorade and rest as much as you can.
