Just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery!

Good to know you are feeling better after the recovery. I did not have a lap but was scheduled to have it the next cycle of when I got pregnant.....but I know exactly how you feel...I kept asking myself and dh the same question when we were getting mentally ready for lap...SO IS IT BETTER TO FIND SOMETHING IN THE LAP OR SHOULD WE WE HAPPY IF WE DONT FIND ANYTHING...it is such a catch 22 situation because at one hand u r happy that everything looked good, but on the other, you r left unanswered about ur fertility problem.
For now...relax and take it easy. Now maybe you RE will put you onto the next steps and maybe that helps you conceive. Good luck.
As for the incision...my doc had the same apprach...1 incision for camera, other for moving the organs aroung and if he finds something then the third. So I think u should be fine there.

Is that why they said you have to have a ivf?

I had scar tissue removed and had 4 incisions.  I guess it depends on what they are doing and perhaps how severe the problem is.  Mine was pretty severe.

Good luck to you!!

I had a lap on 8/13/08.  I only had two cuts one to look and I guess the other one was to remove cyst and scar tissue.  I will not no more until I go back to the dr.

Thanks, journey! My RE said the first cut was for the camera and the second for the instruments they use to "move things aside" so they can see everything. If they needed to remove anything, they would have made a third incision. But I'll definitely double check on that. Oh, and no need to apologize for sounding negative. To be honest, I kinda wish they did remove something, so that I at least had a better chance at conceiving from now on.

Helen: Thanks for your support, as always!

Call your re and ask.  I think when they make the second cut is when they find something to remove.  The first cut is to look and the second one is to take out.  If I'm not mistaking that is what Re told me.  Sorry I'm not trying to be negative.

Heather,

I know exactly how you feel.  I was so relieved my infertility was finally explained after my lap although the only solution was ivf.

Glad that everything looks good for you though.

Have a lot of rest this weekend!

Helen

p.s. sorry about shoulder pain.  That was sooo unpleasant!!!

Aaaaah, that is so sweet of you guys! Thank you so much for thinking of me! The lap yesterday went well and only took about 20 minutes. I guess everything "looked perfect" in there and they didn't have to do anything but stitch me back up.

I probably should be happy that I didn't have any scar tissue or endometriosis...but at the same time, it would have been nice waking back up and being told that they DID in fact find the cause to my TTC struggles, that they fixed it, and that everything should be smooth sailing from now on. Oh, well, instead, I guess it's just another thing to rule out...

As for the recovery, it hasn't been too bad...except for a horribly painful shoulder yesterday (from the gas they used), and of course, my abdomen is pretty sore. But the two incisions haven't hurt at all, and I haven't had to use any of the pain killers they prescribed. So that's good!

Thanks again for thinking of me :-)
