Heavy Bleeding on Day 12 after Embryo Transfer

I am 38 years old, and we have been trying for a bay for 3 years, neither of us have children.  We have just had our 1st Embryo transfer on 19th February 2009, we had 2embryos transfered both 8 celled, day 3 transfer.  I was due to take my PT this Friday 6th March.  Last night i had really bad pains and this morning i have started bleeding heavy.  I am so upset do i need to contact my IVF unit?  I also took a HPT this morning came back negative.  I think this is a failed cycle.  Any advice from any body?  Also if this is a failed cycle how long do i wait before i can have another IVF cycle?
Crying so much.

I have just contacted my IVF unit, they have told me to take the test tomorrow instead of Friday, and i need to contact them again tomorrow, i asked if this was a failed cycle how long will i have to wait for another, your correct they said they need 2 full periods before i can try again.  They said they would discuss my case on Monday in a audit meeting and let me know in writing the outcome.

Thank you for your replies, just so disapointed.

Hope every thing goes fine for both of you.

So sorry to see your post. Yes call your office and see what they say. there is nothing worse than not knowing.
My friend's IVF failed in January and she was told to take at least of couple of months off to rest and prepare so she is starting again in april.
good luck.

I am so sorry.  You should call the office to update them to your situation and to find out if there is anything that you need to do (I still had to go for the blood test for some reason, so you may have to, too!)

As for how long you have to wait, I think that it different in every office.  I think that I was to wait an entire cycle, but we didn't go for back to back IVF's, so we started trying naturally right away.

Sending positive thoughts and prayers to you.
