Help! Soooo Confused and at wits end!

im confused, i dont ovulate at all apparently and just had a laparoscopy done and was diagnosed with endometriosis in the cul de sac (he was able to remove the growths) and have "polycystic appearing ovaries"....could the endometriosis have somthing to do with me not ovulating, or could i have pcos? dont see my obgyn till april and am at my wits end! Me and my husband have been trying to get pregnant fo 4 years now and no success could the laparoscopy improve our chances of concieving?

I believe that both endometriosis and PCOS greatly affect fertility, but that does not mean that you cant or wont conceive. I would think that your procedure should definatley improve your chances. Are you seeing an RE? If not have your OB call you. Your appointment may be in April, but that doesn't mean you can't get a few questions answered in the mean time! Hang in there!

I would try to get in sooner as since you just ahd the surgery the next three months are a good time to try beore the endo starts to grow back, as it sometimes can. If you have PCOs then that would effect you ovulating more then the endo unless it was founf outside the uterus and growiing up on the tubes andovaries. Both can be treated and can have good outcomes but they need to be agressive in treating both. You can take Lepron to stop the endo and metformin to help woth the PCOS and make you ovulate. You will also might be put on progesterone as woman with PCOS do not ahve luteal phases and have low progesterone. The Endo makes it ahrder to keep the baby stuck to the uterus and sometimes they perscribe asprin fo rthat but each case is different. I know it is jsut a couple months but they shoudl ge toyu in sooner and if they can't I woudl see your OB to get you started on something and get all your bloodwrok done.

I would not waste any time with your Obgyn. I would recommend you call your Obgyn and ask who they recommend for RE. With these two diagnoses your chances of naturally conceiving are GREATLY reduced, however, with a little help from an RE you will likely be successful.  Clomid is great to try to stim ovulation but it is highly unpredictable (think Jon and Kate Plus 8). Also, a RE would be able to tell you after seeing your history if you would be able to succefully conceive via stim meds, IUI or ivf. 30something12 is right!! Time is of the essence when it comes to endometriosis. Following the lap is the best time to start fertility treatments. My sister has severe endo and tried working with her ObGyn for several years before she went to a RE who told her right away that she would not conceive without ivf. She had lap done and then had ivf and has 3yo daughter. When ready for more kids, she had lap done again to "clean up" and had ivf shortly thereafter. She had her twin boys last week.  It often takes a while to get in with a RE so I would recommend you tell them your situation, being that you just had lap done and would like to have eval ASAP.  I also wasted a great deal of time with my Obgyn (2 years) before I went to RE. I am finally pregnant after 3 ivf cycles with twins. i hope I am not coming across as bossy. Unfortunately, I have learned a great deal about this infertility business...more than I ever wanted to know!
