I am a 28 year old female/5'8"/137 lbs. I have never had normal periods and have suffered from ovarian cysts. My husband and I have conceived a child once in our five year marriage and miscarried. My only consolation after receiving my bloodwork results was that they were taken midcycle by chance because I started my period two weeks later. My FSH was 23.9 and my LH was 101. The doctor said my estradiol/TSH/progesterone were normal. He did a pelvic U/S and found a cyst on my right ovary and two on my left. He is puzzled because if I am in ovarian failure wouldn't I have low levels of estrogen, but I have endometriosis? Where is the estrogen coming from and can I have high levels of FSH/LH at midcycle when I ovulate? Can cysts produce hormone?
After the miscarriage the doctor removed the large cyst from my ovary and told me he found endometriosis. I never knew I had that disease and I don't suffer ANY problems from it unless it is the cause of my cysts and irregular periods??? The doctor that performed the surgery also did not tell me that it was a chocolate cyst, but this new doctor based on the U/S pic I brought to the appt said it was. I don't have any symptoms of PCOS or endometriosis, so the knew doctor is doing an inhibin B and karotype test. He also mentioned a possible pituitary tumor.
Sooo confused?? Any input would be greatly appreciated
