I am 33 yrs old and have 4 childern my 4rd child is 19mths. I have been trying for the #5 (last one) for 8 months. I have regular periods, my period changes every 3 months from 28-31 days. I get positive opt, and I have the clear blue easy fertility monitor that tests positive. I always see cervical mucus the day before it shoes a positive opt. If I am getting cm and postive opt am I def ovualting? I bought the fsh home test, and I was shocked when it came back positive, are those test accrate? My last child was a c-section can that have caused any damage to my tube?
I'm confused...the FSH test came back positive? FSH is always a positive number, but the higher the number, the harder it is to conceive. I'm not really sure how a home FSH test works, but I would probably go and have a blood FSH test done if you're worried about it. Although at 33, with 4 children and the youngest being only 19 months, it might not be an issue.
As for ovulating....if you get a positive OPK every month, have fertile cervical mucus and a regular cycle, chances are you're most probably ovulating. A blood progesterone test about 7 days after suspected ovulation would tell you for sure.
They usually say that it can take a normal healthy couple up to a year to conceive, so if nothing happens in the next 4 months, you could always go see your obgyn about it. He/she can then refer you to a specialist (RE) if needed.
