Lots of Baby dust to you
Hi Gracy,
I'm sorry about your loss.
I was also diagnosed with elevated prolactin levels early this year. Mine was measured at 45ng. I was prescribed bromocriptine 1x a day. My doctor said they like to see your levels under 25ng and even lower if you are under 30. My levels dropped to 19 within a couple of months. Are your periods irregular? Mine were super irregular, lasting 42-45 days. Only the past couple of months that they have gotten shorter. I did a lot of research on prolactin levels of fear that I would have tumor. From what I read and from my doctor's advice, a MRI is only done when the patient's #'s are over 100ng or is having symtoms (headaches, vision blurs/changes). So if you have any of these symptoms then I would suggest that you insist on getting scanned. I also read that stress can add to the elevated prolactin levels, but it is not the only reason why. I think in my case, I was on the pill for 10 yrs and my hormones just couldn't catch up after I stopped taking the pill.
Best of luck to you and hope the info helps u!
