High prolactin level

I am so confused I do have ahigh prolactin level which confuses the body in thinking it is already pregnant, but I get a monthly period. even my fertility doctor is shocked.He cant beleieve I am getting a period every month,I am on medication to bring the unwanted prolacitn level down from the pituitary gland it just sucks because the medicine makes me ill si I can unfortunately tolerate it which slowly too slow does not work enough on the too high prolactin count.Just feeling alone and sad and wondering if anyone else has what I have, All I want is one baby I would be so happy,I dont think it is possible with what I have.Thanks,Anna

hey i like you have or did have high prolactin levels...the first time i found out it was after trying clomid for 4 months and 1 failed IUI...i was going to move into injections and found out about my prolactin at the time they were 44! really high too...i skipped a month and went on dostinex half of a pill twice a week i never got any side effects i take at it nite before going to bed..1 month later my levels where down to 8! my nurse said they were perfect so i started my injections and im now 6w6d pregnant and everything is going good..i already seen my fetus and i got a hear beat! so that was excitin..i also have PCOS and i take metformin for that...my nurse told me that having high prolactin levels chances of getting preg. are small to none..so if i were you find out maybe if the rx they gaved you prephas is a high dose you might need a smaller dose and what are you taking? and just wait a month have them re test your prolactin, and if anything take the meds at nite before going to bed!
