Hopeful news for those with high FSH scores

Hopeful news for those with high FSH scores

I know there was a post a couple of weeks ago where several women were worried about FSH scores in the 10-11 range.  I just wanted to say that my FSH has come back in the 10-11 range during the past year (these scores are actually very good for my age), and I'm now pregnant for the second time in five months, without fertility treatments!  And I'm 46!  This new pregnancy has happened during our second month of trying to conceive since my miscarriage.  So for those of you who are much younger--which is probably everyone on this website-- your eggs will be of much better quality than mine, so your chances at pregnancy will be much better (and the FSH score, of course, only indicates quantity, not quality).  So I just wanted to say that even if your FSH numbers are high normal to high, keep trying!  One thing that has probably helped us is that we also have an adoption in process, so we know we'll be parents later this year whether or not I actually give birth--this has really helped take some of the pressure off.

Hi BG-MN. Congratulations on your pregnancy!!...My FSH was 11 and after 7 mths of Clomid and a lap/hysteroscopy, i too am preg...it's wonderful..I am 34yrs..How did you get your FSH down, how long did it take and what was it previously?? Just still trying to learn as much as possible about this considering theres a fairly high chance my FSH is going to keep rising over the next few years...

Congratulations on your pregnancy also!  Actually, I don't know what my 3rd-day FSH score was in previous years.  My first 3rd day FSH score was 10 last January (we had just gotten married, and suddenly, at 45, I desperately wanted a biological child).  So previously it may have been higher or lower.  In April I got pregnant, then I miscarried in June, and my August FSH score was 11, and two weeks later, I got pregnant.  My understanding, though, is that it would be better to be 36 with an FSH of 20 than 46 with an FSH of 10, because at least when you're younger, the eggs you have left are likely to be of good quality (so they can do ivf).  So even if your FSH scores do go up, you will have options for several more years!

Hello, Congratulations....I am 43 and was told that I am borderline/high FHS..didn't really know what that meant until I went to an endocrinologist for a goiter on my thyroid..where she so rudely said I was pre menopausal and shouldn't think about pregnancy..My periods are irregular which could be either pre menopausal or from the thyroid issue which I am having biopsyed soon..in your opinion from your experiences..do you think I have any hope/chance..I conceived twins naturally 4 years ago at 38 but now ready to do it again and now I am of course having thyroid issues, irregularity w/ my period and borderline/high fhs...???
