My doctor did a hormone panel for me yesterday and these were the results. (he was trying to see what my body is up to as I typically ovulate CD16 and I am currently CD20 and nothing):
First let me say I'm so sorry for your losses - I know how devastating it is. In regards to your test, it is an interesting choice of days to do those tests. To check ovulation, a progesterone level is typically done 7 days past ovulation (dpo). Many women 7dpo falls on CD21, so in that respect your test would be close, but if you think you O on CD16 then it doesn't make sense to do it 4 dpo.
Generally, to show ovulation what they look for is a level over 5 will confirm some sort of ovulation on a natural, NON medicated cycle (no clomid, injections or anything like that), but most like to see a level over 10 on a natural cycle and over 15 on a medicated one.
on the surge day around ovulation it would show something, otherwise a level of nine seems to me like it would be coming back down from your surge - but I'm no doctor.
Here is a GREAT website for info on hormone levels, and you may notice - where I got a lot of my info! ;o)
is ok if you are about to ovulate but if your not it could mean deminished ovarian reserve which means maybe pre menopause
The E2 is extreemly high!
The progesterone is ok if you are not past ovlulation.
My guess would be an ovarian cysts looking at all three!!!! Which is nothing to worry about in itself. You should get tested for PCOS though cause if that is what is causeing it then you need to get straightened out to get pregnant!
I would have your doctor redoe the tests on the right days! Also check you FSH! Best of luck and I hope you O or start soon!
Thanks for the responses ladies. I should probably mention that I am only 26 years old and also - that the numbers I posted are CANADIAN numbers. So I think the E2 is 344 divided by 3.6 or something like that?
