How Soon for Sex After IVF?

What have your docs told you? With my first IVF I broke the rules and had sex 15 days post transfer. I began spotting the next day. I ended up with 2 sacs and 1 heartbeat. Went on to have a healthy baby.

This time DH is pestering me. Im at 19 days and I don't know if I will hold out until Oct 8th. I've also seen where some doctors say sex is fine after the 2ww and waiting for the 1st heartbeat is not necessary.

Please share your experiences on this matter...

I was told to wait until after first ultrasound....My DH is "itching" for a "scratch " too...its been over two months and I just miscarried at 8 1/2 weeks. I had a D&C on Thursday and was told no hanky panky for at least 2 weeks!

I have heard sex cant cause you to M/C. DH and I have not had sex for over 2 months. Driving me crazy, and I still m/c. Had my d&c Friday at 8wks. My RE told me the reason we couldn't have sex during the stim process was due to the ovaries being enlarged. There is a possibility the ovaries can twist with to much "action" if you know what I mean. As for the sex during the TWW period and after, I don't know. My ob told me once, if a m/c is going to happen, sex or anything else was not going to prevent it. But if you find the answer let me know. I'm not bleeding or cramping after the D&C and we are dying to do the NASTY.

My clinic told me no sex for the 2ww although for women with previous m/c many ob's recommend no sex till 2nd trimester.
Congrats on your bfp!
