How do you count days past O or IUI?

Is it the day you O/have IUI 1dpo or 1dpiui, or the day AFTER o/iui?

I entered my BBT today on fertilityfriend and the site actually tracks your dpo.  So, they count me as 3 dpo today with 1 dpo being the day after O.  I think that's the convention.

I forgot to ask the dr. today.  I'll try to remember Tues. when I have my IUI.  But, I was thinking, if in a typical 28 day cycle you expect your period 14 days after o, and o is on day 14 and we term the day our period is expected as 14 dpo, then you would start counting the day of o as 1dpo.

I have been counting the day after as well, but then got confused and forgot which one it was!

Thanks for your replies :-)

I count the day of the IUI as day 1.   I thought since the 1st day of AF is day one and the IUI is 24 hrs post the LH surge that would make the day of the IUI day 1 of o.  Hmm...I'll ask my dr. about this today.  Good question!
