How long should I wait Post Transfer ...

How long should I wait before taking a pregnancy tesy...I am on Day 9 of my 2ww....I am anxious...

docs tell you to ignore all urine test but i don't think thats true ! i took a urine test on the 11th day came back neg ( it was right ) 2 of my friends had who had ivf 1 of them took their test on day 8 came back pos she now has beutiful little girl the other one took test on day 9 also came back pos she has a beutiful baby boy ! did u have 3 day transfer or 5 day transfer ? when did you take your hcg shot ?

I had my embryo transfer done on May 8th and my first blood test wasn't until the 19th! I was so anxious too and took 2 home tests...one on day 8 and the other 2 days later ~ they were both negative. I was so bummed, but still has hope after reading all these posts about really needing to wait for a certain period of time. Both of my blood tests have now come back positive and I am pregnant! If you do take one, try not to get too hung-up on the results, just in case they aren't quite accurate. And good luck to you!!! Just out of curiousity, what happened with your first IVF procedure? This was my first time going through it...

I know alot of people say not to do a HPT but, I wanted to know...with my first IVF I did a HPT on day 9 and it was negative and again on about day 12 and it was still negative. I was really heartbroken but the HPT was correct and my blood test was negative. Only take the HPT if you can emotionally deal with the results. Trigger on 5/17...Dr. put 2 embies back on day 3 (5/20)... My trigger was Lupron and now I am on Progesterone shots and the Vivelle Dot...

This is my first IVF..I had 4 iui's which resulted in 3 negative and 1 positive...The positive resulted in a Blighted Ovum at 8 weeks....But you know what, I have really have strong faith and this time I know that God is going to make it happen for us!!!!

I think 9dpt on a three day transfer is way too early to test.  If you want to test, I would wait until day 12-13 to test.  I tested on 9dpt but I had a 5 day transfer too.  Try to be patient and much luck on your upcoming beta - SSBD! - jen

You're so welcome - I'm pulling for you, elt78.  I did my IVF cycle nearly two years ago so I have to live vicariously through you ladies!  BTW, I delivered a healthy baby boy in April '08.  Let us know how things go - keep up that positive thinking - jen

i had my transfer may 22,i did hpt on the 3rd day,result was negative.ihad the 3 day transfer.planning to test again today which is 6 day post transfer.wishing all the best to both of us

I was a POAS addict!  I used to test twice a day starting ridiculously early.  I think my last IVF broke me of that.  I got a positive FR digital gold the night before my beta - with night time urine that was diluted as well!  I was ecstatic.  I called my mother and my best friend and was literally jumping for joy.  I had never gotten a positive home test before my beta so I really thought it was it!  Well, my beta came back a 3 - enough to show there HAD been something there that the test picked up, but it was on it's way out.  Another time I had a negative HPT the morning of my beta and my beta was positive (that one didn't stick either though) - so I was so destrought up until the blood test and here my beta ended up being positive!  You'd think I would've learned my lesson then before this last IVF!!!  So my vote is to stay away from the home tests.  They only added to the horrible emotional roller coaster of those times.  Best of luck to you - I really hope this is it for you!
