how high is your fsh? and what is your age? young age combined with fsh isn't so bad... "age trumps the high fsh number"
high fsh combined with age of over 40 ish can indicate poor ovarian reserve (not a lot of good eggs) I am 35 with borderline fsh, myself. (9.8) and doctor isn't too worried about it, but i worry about it myself and therefore am taking an aggressive approach ttc at this point (meds, iui)
but keep in mind anything under 10 is "good" and over 10-13 is "fair"
sorry i don't have exact answers to your questions, though. i hope someone else will chime in and give you their treatment protocol with high fsh.
I agree with you on that, I'm 24 years old with a current FSH level of 47.
over the past 5 years (since I started missing periods) my FSH levels jumped from 45, to 67, back to 47. I'm 24 years old, been married for just over a year now. My husband and I just started trying to look into the situation last month. I have been to at least 6 Doctors since I turned 19 and I started missing periods, and I heard funny things like early menopause and other things that don't make any sense to me. Yesterday, when I got my latest test results and found out that I managed to bring down my FSH level from 67 to 47 in under 7 months I decided to not lose hope and to never let a doctor tell me what I can and can't do! Women have managed to conceive with FSH levels as high as 133, which is well into the menopausal range according to the lab tests.
I have decided to take matters into my own hands, I refuse to believe that at my age it is impossible for me to have a healthy baby! there are natural remedies to lower FSH values (stress reduction, acupuncture, wheat grass, DHEA, etc) and I will do all that I can and more to get to where I want to be.
I don't know if this was of any help to you, but I felt like sharing my story, if doctors are telling you your FSH is abnormally high at 13 or 15, thats only the medical side of it, and I know that there are other means of alternative medication that can help you out.
